Hi guys, I'm Yoav, one of Coverr's creators
When we launched Coverr 3 years ago as a side project and we never expected it to gain such traction and interest. After having so many videos piling up and a growing number of visitors we realized we should do a lot better for our community. It took us some time, as Coverr is still our side project, but today we have some big news to our users and any video lovers or consumers out there..
We're excited to introduce you to Coverr 2.0 , which brings a number of new features.
Here are the main ones:
1 - Search (finally!) - We have a great search engine that makes finding your videos easy and fun.
2 - Vertical videos - we're proud to be the first platform to offer free Vertical videos (!) which is much needed as vertical videos become more and more popular. Check out the "see as coverr" option!
3 - We improved our design.
4 - We added 100s of new videos.
5 - Videos are added more often.
6 - Contributing videos is now easier.
7 - Coverr 2.0 is faster and more stable.
You can expect more improvements and additions in the near future (API included!), in the meanwhile we'd love to hear your comments and we hope you enjoy Coverr.
Using it for Presentation (at least when I can include a footage) this is a great ressource. Thank you !
Unsplash for video! 😍 Great quality videos, all free! Nice categorisation with tags. Hope to use this soon on a website!!!

Very nice and easy to use. Highly Recommended!
- Perhaps if you can have a mini preview option where we can kind of play the video when your mouse cursors was place over the videos instead of opening the a pop up every time. This will really speed up the process for us to search for the video we may be interested in.
- Also I understand that you guys wanted to keep it minimal and sleek which is awesome. But sometimes certain things we cannot do without...just yet. So an "X" on the popup page to close the pop will be better.
I once have a client to did that and found that site vistors somehow stayed longer on their site.

Regarding play on hover - since these are mainly videos that go on websites background - we feel that it deserves to be viewed in a larger size than a thumbnail - but if we get more comments like this, we might implement such feature, it's super easy to implement so it's not a technical blocker :)
Regarding the X to close the pop up - clicking outside of it should work and it's a pretty common behaviour.. that said - we'll consider adding a little X.
