Finally, something positive in a wave of negative news!
Would be cool to see if somehow you can introduce some components of the https://www.worldometers.info/co... -- in the list, such as a statistic of vaccinations per million inhabitants and maybe graphs in a later stage :) gives a more in-depth perspective.
Either way great concept!
@nicolaas_spijker Thank you Nicolaas π
Totally agree with you. Some light in all of this situation.
We will look on what you shared and will update.
Appreciate your feedback :)
Do you have the amount of vaccine doses each country has received? That could be an interesting extra data point. Especially since we know some places have been very slow in distributing.
You might see other countries topping the list in terms of efficiency in distribution vs total % of population vaccinated.
@alejandro_cantarero1 I think it's hard to measure because if I take the example of my country, France, for example. Even though the government is a bit slow to deliver, if the numbers are not increasing fast it's mostly because a lot of us plainly refuse to be vaccinated
Awesome ! But how come Africa is empty ? I know that a few countries started administrating the vaccines there with the help of China, a couple of weeks before the EU & the US.
Hey Everyone π
@ori_riechman and I are the creators of https://covid-19-vaccine.live.
The global mission to administer COVID vaccines is finally bearing fruits! A handful of vaccines have now been authorized all over the world and countries have begun vaccinating their populations. We decided to make the data more accessible with a simple dashboard that updates every hour - showing what percentage of each country has received the vaccine.
So yeah, that's it! I hope you enjoy the Live Dashboard π
Needless to say, we're super excited to be on Product Hunt today! My co-founders Ori (@ori_riechman) and I will be around all day to listen to any ideas and feedback you might have. Thanks!
Hey y'all!
Thanks for all the support!!! π
To help spread the word just bought another domain
that we think it will make it easier to share. (https://vacs.live)
LMK wdyt please :)
this is less relevant in the first days of the national vaccination campaigns, but will soon become important: some countries may unusual sequencing approaches, and if you have country A with 11% of the population having received dose 1 and 7% having received dose 2, then that country has a very different level of protection from country B where 11% have received dose 1, but 0% dose 2.
@thomas_schierenbeck Woohoo! First of all, thank you so much. π
And about the question. Its a great question, we sharing currently what "ourworldindata.org" are sharing.
"Total number of vaccination doses administered per 100 people in the total population. This is counted as a single
dose, and may not equal the total number of people vaccinated, depending on the specific dose regime (e.g. people
receive multiple doses)."
Currently we does not support a breakdown for 1st vs 2nd dose, but looking forward to add it as fast as possible.
Nice and simple. Helps us understand the current vaccine distribution efforts with ease, while instilling hope in us all for the fight against COVID.
I'll be using this more often than I expect in the coming months. Well done, and thanks for making this!
more data I would love to see:
1. how many people were vaccinated per vaccine type(Moderna / Pfizer / Oxford/ Chinese/ Russian)
2. How many vaccines each country has purchased
3. How many vaccines were administered per age range in the population.
@jimmy_cerone Hey Jimmy! Yea sure, you can find all the sources on the about page here - http://covid-19-vaccine.live/about
We will add more sources in the near future as well.
The stack is React.js + Ruby Serverless lambda + 2 cron jobs that updating the data every hour and that's all π
@jimmy_cerone@jonathan_haim_fishner Lambda is AWS's implementation of "serverless functions". Most cloud providers offer something like this. The idea is you don't manage servers or any type of compute resources. You essentially "upload your code" then it runs on-demand in response to a configurable event such as an HTTP request, timer (cron), database insertion, etc. If you run code through Lambdas it basically scales infinitely and you never have to worry about it or touch it again.
@assembletv Thank you Nate!
We added a page for US only, with a breakdown for each state as well take a look -
https://vacs.live/usa
Also some buttons in the menu for easy way to share it! :)
@piotr_zgierski Thank you PIotr! Happy that you find it helpful
We also added another link that it easier to remember, lmk what do you think :)
