Cursor is now my go-to for PM work—goodbye Google Docs!

by

Recently started consulting with a startup, and I’ve fully switched to Cursor for all my PRDs and PM needs—no more Google Docs or anything else. I’ll never go back!

With MCP, I’ve even connected Google Docs, just in case I ever need it—right inside Cursor itself, haha.

Oh, and I’m nudging the devs here to try Cursor too—slowly moving them away from Copilot.

Loving the Cursor experience! 🚀

Anyone else using Cursor for PM work? How’s your experience been? Any cool workflows or features you’ve found super useful?

Very interesting. How are you using it as a replacement for google docs?

I've been thinking about trying cursor but haven't seen anything that I can't do already with vscode + copilot. What would be your recommendation as to why switch to cursor?

@alan_rivera Cursor Agent or the agent thing from Windsurf is reason alone if you ask me

In case anyone is on the fence like I was, I tried windsurf and immediately canceled my copilot subscription, while copilot is great, windsurf really feels like it understands your code and what your asking so much better, it can also take in images in the prompt and you can set up mcp servers to give it context of your workflows and tools you already use, it's definitely worth the jump.

@sanjeed5 Interesting. Won't your PRDs have screenshots and flow diagrams? Also, how are you keeping track of past items? I find the "Chat history" quite cumbersome. For dev purposes, it's still fine as you might not need to revist older chats. Wondering how you manage it for PM work that might require more past lookups;

@sanjeed5 could you share specifically how you use this? For me comment, history, support for diagrams, screenshots and workflows is critical in a PRD. Not sure how Cursor can replace all that

This is a cool Cursor use case. How do you share the docs you create with your team? Are you syncing to some other public-facing product? If so, can you share how?

I’ve heard a lot about Cursor recently! For someone who's used Google Docs for all my PRDs, what would be the biggest learning curve switching to it?
