Hi fellow Hunters! We are super excited to share our new Free Text Search with you. You can just head over to our web app, register, and start searching a showcase database with Spotify previews. Here are some tips for this first version: 👉 If the Free Text Search produces startling results, mostly it is related to specific ways a word is written, e.g. writing “hip hop" instead of “hiphop". Also, decades should be written like 70s 80s 90s rather than 70’s 80’s 90’s. 👉 Give it some alterations! E.g. for “solo jazz piano with female vocal” you get rather poppy results. Good without question, but not 100% hitting the spot. Alter the search term to "jazz piano with female vocals” and it gives you the results you were expecting. 👉 So the Free Text system shows similar behaviour to the likes of Google etc. Sometimes slight alterations make a huge difference and we are developing solutions that identify this behavior automatically. We are grateful for all of your feedback. Of course, this product is mainly designed to be integrated into big music catalogs via our API. But we always love to share it with our community, let them be part of our innovations, and receive valuable feedback from you! Thanks! Jakob, Co-Founder & CMO of Cyanite
