Hello Product Hunt! We're thrilled to share Masks with you all. This has been our most requested feature for a long long time but has also been the most technically challenging to implement. We set a really high bar for ourselves to design and build software that is intuitive, easy-to-use, but retains the power and efficiency of professional tools, and we think Masking in Darkroom encapsulates that perfectly. If you're not familiar with Darkroom, we're a small independent team and have been working on Darkroom since 2014. We won an Apple Design Award, Editor's Choice, Best of the App Store, among other accolades, which speaks to our commitment to design and quality. With today's update we support 4 types of masks: - AI-powered masks generate a 3D map of the scene in your photo, allowing you to edit the primary subject, foreground, background, and any range in-between. - Smart Masks intelligently single out the subject, sky, hair, glasses, skin or teeth when editing Portrait and ProRAW photos. - Gradient & Range masks are the standard mask types and can be combined to create pixel-perfect selections that single-out an object or a region of your photo. These features are part of our Darkroom+ subscription, and it's all available today on iPhone, iPad, and macOS.
