Thanks for the hunt @erictwillis
We’ve been working on DashMetrics for a few months. It started as an ida we discussed over a few drinks, that turned into a evening/weekends side project that we’re now launching as a company.
We noticed a need in large businesses, agencies and startups, to share metrics, without the need to use a realtime dashboard. Top line metrics, that need to reported to stake holders on a regular basis, for example. We found people were going the classic route of collecting this information and sharing in spreadsheets or via email, and built DashMetrics to solve this problem.
Dashboards can be populated with metrics manually, where data isn’t available via an API, and we’re working to integrate with more datasource, to automate collection of metrics where possible. Dashboards can be public (free) or private (paid) depending on the users need.
We also found that once people reached a milestone metric that they wanted to share (say reaching 10k followers on twitter), they needed to use graphics tool to create a good looking image to share with their posts. DashMetrics will create beautiful images for your to share your metrics across the popular social media networks, all sized correctly!
Would love to get your feedback and suggestions moving forward, as this is just the start of our journey to making metrics sexy!
This is very cool. Definitely something that @mubashariqbal and I have spoken about a number of times. I like that there's a focus on simplicity and the concept of sharing milestone metrics, which obviously becomes more important once you start having investors and outside parties. The topline notion of breaking out the data from spreadsheets makes it more mobile and therefore more attractive as an easy integration, especially in the ramping-up stages of a company when you start to have more data to categorize and share.
Additionally, I love that you can set it to free or payable; that's a great way to generate some initial revenue if the data you're collecting is of specific importance to an outside party. Clever. Great build Mubs, @chrisj_thompson and @joearcuri!
Awesome hunt @erictwillis!
@adammarx13 We had a lot of feedback from users saying they wished we offered a Personal plan so they could make their own metric dashboards private, so we listened to our community and just launched a new Personal plan that allows individuals to upgrade to our $10/mo ($100/yr) plan and have up to (10) Private dashboards. It's even easier to set a dashboard to Private using our new privacy toggle in the upper right hand of every dashboard. Would love feedback on our new plan and privacy toggle.
Thanks! Great and useful product if you want to keep track on key KPIs and showcase them in a nice way.
Although Mixpanel integration would be super cool to have.
Do you have any plans to connect with Mixpanel or other analytics?
@geek_1001 Thanks! 🙏👊
We certainly will be adding a lot more integrations, and this is one of the reasons we're excited to launch DashMetrics. We'd love for the users to help us decide what integrations and features to focus on. MixPanel has all been discussed internally and just moved up in our priorities 😃
@joostschuur Definitely on the roadmap. We've talked with some larger companies, that have proprietary systems they want to integrate with, but good for any company/hacker too 😃
If you have any specific requirements feel free to drop me an email: mubs@dashmetrics.io
It would be really cool if you can add a CSV which can generate a card. it would also be great to integrate with google sheet so it auto updates when you add to your google sheet.
@dan_dinsmore Thanks Dan! Couldn't have done it with out my team! I've been meaning to reach out to you. Would love to meet and hear your thought, pick your brain. I'll ping you.
@justin_adler1 Great suggestions. We've had quite a few requests for MailChimp - we'll definitely move that up on our integrations roadmap. Would love to get your feedback on how you'd envision using DashMetrics with MailChimp and Google Analytics if you want to send me a DM at @ChrisJ_Thompson
@aaron_kazah you've been one of our most vocal supporters since we launched our MVP. Much luv goes out to you for continuing to support us and sing our praise!
Looks great and is easy to use. Nice onboarding: simple and clear. Are you considering other design elements to display the metrics (symbols, diagrams)? It seems, for now, there is only one ”design” option and users may look for differentiators in communicating those metrics.
@irina_theodoru We'd love to have more was to visual the data, we have plans to add charts and maybe other visualization, but we need to get more data into the system before we fully explore the options.
Would also be great to hear from users how they want to display their metrics.
@irina_theodoru As Mubs mentioned we'd love to hear any thoughts you have on how you'd suggest we enable users to "design" their dashboards to better reflect their metrics. You can DM me and I'd love to chat.
Thanks @nielsmouthaan for your comment. I believe you've confused our company DashMetrics http://dashmetrics.io/ with a similar named company DeskMetric https://deskmetrics.com/pricing/ but I can assure you we are very different company. Happy to chat more offline if you want to send me a DM.
We just posted our story of how DashMetrics got its start, and how we launched on Product Hunt: "From Side-Project to Startup in 6 (crazy) Months" https://medium.com/@ChrisJ_Thomp...
