Dashworks is the ultimate AI search assistant for your work. Simply add it to a Slack channel, and it will respond to questions with precise, helpful answers from information buried in your wikis, chats, and other work apps.
Dashworks is essential for modern teams. Think ChatGPT tailored to you and your company. Excited to see where they're headed—a personal work assistant deeply integrated with your entire tech stack. PS: their roadmap is 🔥
Hi there PH, excited to be back 👋 Thanks, Justin!
Today, we’re excited to introduce Dashworks for Slack. You can try it free for 30 days by signing up in the next 24 hours.
Since sharing Dashworks on PH last year, a Slack app has been our top request. Slack is where questions are asked, and information is exchanged, so this was a natural surface for Dashworks, and we wanted to get it right. With advancements in conversational AI, we believe we’ve finally found the ideal user experience to make this happen.
How it works
1. Add Dashworks to Slack
2. Connect data sources from our library of 40+ turnkey integrations like Notion, Confluence, Google Drive, Github, and Jira.
3. Invite Dashworks to a Slack channel. Please take a look at the Use cases section below for suggestions.
4. That’s all there is to it! Dashworks will now monitor the Slack channels for new questions it can answer and proactively respond with relevant information. Dashworks respects document permissions in connected data sources, so you’ll only get responses using documents you can access.
Use cases
Dashworks can answer questions about your product, customers, internal policies, and any other topic it finds in your connected data sources. Here are a few ways you can use it:
👨🏻💻 Accelerate developer tasks like fixing bugs by finding answers buried in Slack chats, GitHub PRs, Jira comments, and Confluence pages
👶 Make it easier for new hires to get up to speed by finding answers themselves, reducing managers' workloads.
🛃 Enable customer-facing teams to answer product questions without interrupting product and engineering managers.
🔁 Handle repetitive HR and IT questions about company policies, software, and equipment.
What’s next
Dashworks for Slack is just one step toward our vision of making humanity omniscient.
Over the next few months, we’ll collaborate closely with early adopters of Dashworks for Slack (hopefully you!) to make the work assistant more capable
Please share any feedback you may have! We’d love to hear from you. 🙌
@prasadkawthekar Impressive! Congrats on the launch of Dashworks. I am always a fan of creating more efficiency inside of Slack and I love that the responses can be tailored to your channel specifically. We are actually about to launch our own product, SphereOne, and we would love for you to check it out when it comes out!
I love how easily and quickly you can find the info you need. It takes way too long to look for the answers manually, so a tool like this is such a time-saver. Congrats on the launch!
Hey mates! Well done on getting Dashworks for Slack on the Product Hunt!
I've only got one inquiry. What do you think sets it apart from other similar products?
Hey @new_user_126293be17! Our focus is on ease of setup for admins and ease of use for end users. We're doing this in primarily two ways:
- Point-and-click integrations with 40+ data sources, with more added every week.
- Intelligent search that works out of the box with no additional configuration needed
- Accessible within your team's existing workflows. You can access Dashworks on the web, from your browser's new tab or address bar using our browser extensions, and now in Slack
I can already see my team using this for onboarding, thanks !
If I understand correctly, it takes data from all sources (Notion, Trello, Confluence, etc) and fine-tune a LLM for this new dataset ?
@majdi_rabia onboarding is a great use case! Let me know how I can support you as you try it out.
Yes, that's about right! The only difference is that we don't fine-tune model weights yet, and instead provide relevant content to the generative model in the prompt.
@prasadkawthekar@mehdi_rifai glad to hear it! Nobody here carries a quota, so if you need some help, just reach out, and I will make it a personal priority to make sure you get assistance.
@zain_sheikh Yes, and we have a tool to find all your answers even if you are not on slack? do you have any questions about how you can take full advantage of dashworks?
I'm curious what the most common question is that people ask the assistant? Do most questions align on a few topics or is there a long tail distribution?
@zach_schwager I assume logistical questions are pretty common for new hires, but it would be really cool if y'all can find a way for it to answer cultural questions about the company and its best practices
@david_glass Hi David, we actually can, as long as that information is somewhere in your org's documentation. Slack is just the newest feature, the platform itself contains a lot of power across all of your documentation. Happy to assist if you would like a hand.
Hi-ya . 🤚 Well done on getting your product on PH! 😉 I'll try it right now. I just wanna ask you a thing. What do you think makes it stand out from the competition?
@prasadkawthekar Congrats on launching Dashworks for Slack! It is helpful for developer tasks like bug fixing, assisting new hires to reduce manager workload and customer-facing teams answering product questions. Good jobs on Dashworks.
i suggest, this is the ultimate AI search assistant for your work, it will respond to questions with precise, helpful answers from information buried in your wikis, chats, and other work apps.
Congrats on your Slack extension launch 🚀 I really like how the conversational aspect of the AI has been brought into a conversational context that is Slack. It makes the overall process smoother and easier to access for teams already on Slack. Searching through company intranets and knowledge is something I'm personally involved with through what we do at Semafind and I can relate to the problem Dashworks is trying to solve, especially with the Slack extension 💬
Perhaps you can elaborate a bit more how the AI is involved in the process. Do you use, for example, GPT to generate answers after a search has been done? It would be nice to be transparent about the AI models and pipelines to make sure people are aware of any potential biases and limitations when using your product.
@nuric great! I'd be glad to exchange notes. I'm at prasad @ dashworks.ai.
Your hunch is spot on, we provide relevant search results as context to the generative model in the prompt to get the final answer.
Imagine a customized version of ChatGPT for your business. I'm looking forward to where they're going - a digital assistant that works across all of your devices.
I can see how it could be a helpful tool for teams that use Slack for collaboration. Its features, such as the ability to schedule messages and set reminders, help streamline communication and increase productivity. The ability to create task lists and set priorities within Slack channels also seems like a great way to stay organized and on track.
@mashaplotkina_quinky Masha, thank you for the feedback. Slack is a small part of our platform that allows you to unlock many of those other requests you shared. Let me know if you would like some help getting started?
This will be super helpful for onboarding use cases. Information all over the place is definitely an unfortunate reality of today's workplace. Congrats on the launch!
Congratulation on launching! I like the idea one bot could search and answer my question from all my Slack App data instead of switching multiple apps!
