@rrhoover arg, not yet! We are dying to get there... this release was about getting the foundational bits right... moving to a new cross-platform tech stack, a cloud-based file system, and adding video support to the underlying video engine... now we get to move onto the really fun stuff.
We had multitrack voice transcription in the old Mac version and we'll have it in this new version very soon. Adding other types of media like you describe is a top priority. Stay tuned!

Hey @andrewmason, happy to see you here. I downloaded Descript in February and I was totally impressed. I guess video text editing is a killer feature for Youtubers. Also any user can easily create text content form educational videos. 👌
Btw, i tried Descript for my Turkish interview records, but Turkish was not supported on that time. Are you going to add it soon or not? :)
@firatdemirel sorry, we're not planning on adding other languages soon! I know it's frustrating, but we want to make sure everything is dialed in with the English version of the product before expanding to other languages.
@andrewmason I absolutely love Descript. We have used it for the audio transcription on all of our product demo videos in the past, and it has saved me a ton of time in the editing process. Export to webvtt was clutch :) Really excited to try the video support now too.
It says "Use Descript for a quick rough edit, then export to Final Cut Pro or Premiere" - any plans to integrate with Camtasia? Thanks
I love high quality UI. Earlier videos were not possible. I'm glad you did it. Decided to input my card to day and try one more time. First attempt after card input failed - might be because I started the process without the card connected.
I hope you guys integrate with Zoom and GoTo meeting ;)
It would be nice to recognize different voices and mark them somehow
I just downloaded the app with the free 30 minutes of transcription and uploaded a podcast I recorded for one of my clients. I'm blown away at how accurate it is. It made a couple of understandable errors, but for the most part it was spot on. I'll be using this as my transcription service for now on. I'm incredibly impressed!
Pros:Incredibly accurate transcription with smart grammar correction included. Also comes with a smart text editor that seems to learn as you go
Cons:Doesn't automatically distinguish between different speakers, but this will likely change as their machine learning grows.
@andrewmason This looks promising. However, when I try to test it out with a 15 minutes video it's asking for credit card, although it stated that I get 30 free minutes. I'd like to try it before committing to entering my CC#.
Looks fantastic! What if you did a cross fade on the video cut so it’s not so jumpy and abrupt?

I trialed Descript about two years ago and wasn't very impressed, to be honest. However - it was recommended to me by a friend again about 2 months ago and I grudgingly decided to try it again. I am BLOWN away by this software, has it ever come a long way!
It's completely changed my podcasting workflow and has given me back at least 50% of my time. Editing from a transcript to make a podcast has simplified my life so much. I cannot recommend it enough.
I've been telling everyone I know to use it, I hope that Descript will continue to produce amazing media editing features as it continues to grow!
@andrewmason Would this work for a YouTuber who needs to subtitle the conversation and embed it into a video using Premiere? If so there is a huge market for YouTubers because there is a huge trend for subtitling right now.
