Descript's Underlord is one of the best application of AI so far.
Its ability to take out fillers and fix gaze direction is really cool β€οΈ

Love the name! Descript was magic from the first time I used it, and although it took a little time for me to understand Scenes, I eventually became a believer. This feels like an incredibly obvious application of AI that's so, so hard to get right, and knowing the Descript team, they've put a ton of thought into the UX here. Looking forward to trying it out!
We use Descript for our Podcast, I think it's awesome compared to Riverside etc, especially at the price. It's sometimes buggy, but they "move fast and break things". I dont think we would have had the time to start an podcast but for the tool. Not sure if I like the name underlord though, I get the want to differentiate from "co-pilot, assistant" etc but Spielberg or Quentin may have been friendlier names.

@ty_robb how do you use descript for multiple guest with multiple angles. Do you record directly into descrip or record elsewhere and pull footage into descript. What about remote guest
@christopher_washington4 they bought squadcast which is great for remote guests.
You could log in with seperate emails (Christopher 1, and Christory 2) for each camera then when editing mute one audio track, at that point you could pick either camera to focus on. It's a bit hacky but would be relatively easy to do. Could be weird for your guests to see you twice.
Ours is relatively simple, usually only one guest, one camera each. I have had 6 people before but i was not a podcast so we didn't edit it.

Very excited to try this new version with the Underlord. Descript has saved me so many hours that I can record and turn around a finished Podcast the same day, often within a couple of hours. Looking forward to the new features.

Writer's block, or editor's block, is the worst at the beginning of a project.
You're not exactly sure where to start and that's why AI is so useful to take the first pass. It might not get everything perfect, but just reviewing the AI's suggestions will give you tons of ideas.
I like how Descript uses Underlord to take the first shot at editing your episode and then gives you the control to decide which parts to keep.

I had early access to Underlord for a few weeks, and I've used it to record and edit tutorials for YouTube and π. I love the YouTube description generator, and the automatic clips. Thank you for such an intuitive upgrade to a great tool!

Loving being a Descript customer. It really made podcasting so simple for me (after trying supposedly custom built podcast tools like Riverside etc which were totally wonk). Now its just Zoom & Descript and done. Also nearly spat my cornflakes to see it was Andrew Mason behind it. Shouldn't have been suprised - Detour was also great and can totally see how Descript came from a pain he no doubt intensely felt whilst building those stories.
Cool way to use Agents as wrappers. I like what it does. Great progress from the previous version!
