✉️ 2 weeks ago, Ran messaged me on Twitter to collab on a product idea he had.
✈️ He flew me from Paris to Tel Aviv and we worked on Designer Paths for 7 days.
🎥 We filmed the entire product creation process, shared in 3 episodes, first one is out!
💵 We're monetizing the tool with affiliations for some resources (books and courses)
💻 Designer Paths was designed in Figma and entirely built in Webflow.

@ransegall @kartik_pd Thanks! We thought it was important to have enough questions to better predict what path was better. From the stats we collected, more than half finished the quiz. There are still plenty of design improvements we thought of implementing but didn't have the time to, for sure
Such a great tool 👏👏 It didn't spot my inner type designer, but I discovered very useful ressources in the suggestions. Should be spread widely in high schools!

I have a sugestion if you don't mind...
You could give multiple results with different matches with different percentages.
Example: someone my have a 95% match with motion design, 80% match with web design and 65% match with brand design.
This is just an idea, but I have seen it done for example in political spectrum tests and it doesn't give you a single result but multiple ones.
I think people like to have choices, and although this is not forcing you to follow a specific path it's always nice to know that your personality matches with mutiple pathes.
@marcelo_valente that was actually our first intention! But given the short time constraint, we decided on doing something simpler
Nice! I watched a lot of Ran's web design videos on YouTube and they were super helpful, so I'm sure this is going to be super cool!
Great job @benissen ! For a prototype done in 7 days, I am impressed. I was a bit surprised by my recommendation but it is not far fetched. I am a UX designer and the suggested path for me was Product designer.
On an other note : have you thought about your specific target audience?
I ask because if your personas are already designers and/or have initial knowledge about design careers types, I would not add anything but...
if you target people who are earlier in their journey (thinking about goign into design, no prior knowledge or experience), I would consider adding more details about the job at the begenning of path recommandation screen (before the suggested resources).
