Deta Space is a unique personal cloud computer, accessible from anywhere. Space OS is its operating system, that provides users control over their software and gives apps super-interoperability powers — all with AI baked in.
Max from Deta here. Thanks @__tosh for hunting us!
This is our third launch, but in many ways it feels like our first. Deta was started out of the belief that the relationship between an individual and software was not nearly what it could be.
🪐 Space OS is an operating system for the web designed to make computing on the internet more personal, powerful, and fun.
A few things to note:
🌄 Horizon is a new and personal interface for your content and applications online. You can personalize a Horizon with visuals, notes, links, and videos. You can add personal apps from Deta Discovery (https://deta.space/discovery) to your Horizon, while you can also create lightweight apps called Cards straight on your Horizon. Cards can be coded by hand.
✨ Create an app with AI — Cards can also be created using natural language, no knowledge of coding needed. See a demo here:
🔌 Interoperability (coming soon) — one of the core problems with software on the internet is interoperability: almost nothing works together by default, and the solutions feel like duct tape. We are building everything in Space OS with native interoperability in mind. Keep your eyes peeled for our new interoperability interfaces in the next months.

Thanks for checking out Space OS and have fun!
Congratulations on the launch! 🚀
Wishing you the best of luck on this exciting journey. 🌟
How does your product ensure data privacy and security for users?
This is amazing! Looks like a true revolution in the space of cloud computer, no doubt its called Space OS :)
Congratulations on the launch! I like your website, its very unique.
Very cool, congrats on the launch. It feels very different / innovative and I can imagine some pretty cool use cases but for non-developer / non super technical person like me it'd be great to learn a bit more about how this is different from something like a chrome book where a lot of the horsepower already lives in the cloud and some more tangible examples of new capabilities that your approach unlocks.
@_abdelhai@xeust Thanks for sharing, the article is really helpful. I've been playing around a bit and will continue to do so - still figuring it out a bit. I like the vision though and can see the promise, wishing you continued success!
Congratulations to the Deta Space team on the launch 🎉. During the beta phase, I used it alongside Webcrate to centralize and organize my web content privately and efficiently (bookmarking tool)!
Congrats on Launching Space OS, @xeust (and the team!!!)
Your mission to make computing personal and fun with natural language app creation is really cool.
Question: How does Space OS ensure apps created with natural language align with the creators' functional needs?
It appears to be the next logical progression in computing. Now, with AI, it is not far-fetched to imagine a future where we can purchase a device devoid of any brand affiliations, allowing us to solely access the operating system of our preference for optimal productivity. No longer will we face memory limitations, GPU troubles, or sluggish processors. All that will be required is a screen, keyboard, and mouse, and everything will be perfectly arranged. Bravo! You have successfully unlocked the proverbial Pandora's Box, and I must say, I am already infatuated with it!
Congratulations on unveiling Deta Space with its innovative Space OS! 🚀 Providing users with a personal cloud computer that offers control, super-interoperability, and AI integration is groundbreaking. Truly a leap into the future of computing and user experience. Can't wait to see the impact this will have on the tech landscape! 🌌🎉
It may be interesting to more clear and thorough on what you mean exactly by "computing." Also, besides collaboration, what value does it brings over having Windows and an internet browser (which is, one might argue, quite powerful as it is already)?
I am very impressed by this product. I liked the new canvas feature that allows me to add boards and keep track of app updates. It is a unique product. A game changer kind of product I would say. All the best for your future endeavours.
Hello Team!
Congratulations on the launch! Your product, in its current state, seems much closer to the vision of internet computer than that of the browser company's offering. The concept is impressive. However, I'm unsure about your promise of "putting you firmly in control". From what you've shared, it appears your software runs on your servers, which would suggest that your company retains control, not the end user. Additionally, even if I can export the data, it appears I wouldn't be able to operate it within the interface it was created for. So, essentially, to regain my access, I'd need to develop my own software.
For someone like me, who is focused on building technologies that offer digital autonomy, it's challenging to see the notions of cloud and true data ownership on the same page. I’d love to hear your perspective.
