Use Detrashers.org to mark your cleanups on a map of your neighborhood and share them with your neighbors! Track the exact locations you cover, the amount of trash you collect, and the number of people who were with you!
Hey there!
My name is Matt and I built this website to fit a need that I think the world desperately needs: a way to organize and mobilize people to start cleaning up after ourselves. This project is something that I built entirely myself in my spare time (I also work a 9-5 writing code for someone else) and it's just the beginning of what I want to do with the website. The site (and company) are non-profit, ad-free, and entirely donation funded, and will always be that way.
The next steps are:
1. Add profiles to track people's Achievements and assign Points for cleanups completed/trash collected.
2. Add "Request a Cleanup" functionality so that you can easily mark a particularly dirty area you encounter.
I hope to see you out there! You can find me walking around Denver with a bucket in one hand and a litter picker in the other. :)
@ellebelle I would love to, but at this point I'm just one person so I guess I'm just not really sure where to start! I think there are a lot of local government and NGOs that I think would form great partners, but that side of the world (marketing and business relationships) is something I'm still very new to!
@ellebelle@just_be_human If I can ever help a few hours per week in a volunteer capacity, lemme know. This is badass. Good for you for doing all of this π³
