Maybe I've watched too much Black Mirror, but all that this domain reminds me of is #DeathTo

It's insanely fast πŸš€πŸ‘ very nice!

@janklimo Thanks for noticing! :smile:

I am so excited to hunt this project! Some of you may know @ThePracticalDev on Twitter. It’s an account I started with the sole purpose of sharing programming-related content and injecting a bit of my (sometimes cynical) dev humor. Turns out, people really loved the Twitter account and we have over 90,000 followers relying on it for their daily fix. All the while, my cofounder, @jessleenyc, and I have been working on https://dev.to, a platform for programmers to share ideas and help each other grow. It’s a place for all sorts of dev content -- as long as it is inclusive, kind, and helpful for others. The format of the site also lends itself to Q&A and the kind of discussions that would normally get the [closed] tag on Stack Overflow. We appreciate the wishy-washy, opinion-based stuff that fills in the knowledge gaps beyond simply knowing the APIs. I’ve taken many cues from @rrhoover along the way and think we not only share a love of technology, but are both obsessive over some of the finer details of community. When the editor discussion (screenshot above) was happening the other day, Jess and I went to compare and saw that it had more comments than any post on reddit.com/r/programming and more than all but one post on Hacker News. That was a fun barometer. The site is still missing some key features that are in the pipeline and certainly has some bugs to be discovered, but it's all coming together smoothly. We love getting feedback and are working on some features, like this one suggested in our Github: https://github.com/thepracticald... The platform will also be open source in the not-too-distant future, which we are really really excited for. This whole thing has been a fun and fulfilling experiment in technology and community building. We’re already home to great articles, like this: https://dev.to/ericnormand/the-i... And useful discussions, like this: https://dev.to/ben/which-editori... Hope to see some of you on site! And as always, feedback is welcomed and madly sought after. Ben

Love ThePracticalDev, can't wait to see where dev.to goes! πŸ‘
Ben Halpern
@marcelfahle Thanks! There's still some work to be done on that section, so I am glad it is well received! In the future there will be more discoverability, suggestions, and augmentations like comments, etc.

@bhalp1 Congrats, it's impressive how much good content you have there already.

This is really cool. I love what you all are doing! Keep up the great work. :)
Ben Halpern
@thehashrocket Thanks so much, Jason!

The site looks like an incredibly useful resource. It's so hard to keep track of all the "going ons" in the web dev world so I love the centralized stream UI that gives me the latest info right on the front page. Truly excellent work and I'm looking forward to diving in more after I return from vacation. :)

Great. Is QnA feature live or in planning?
Ben Halpern
@sridhar_kondoji We currently use the same post abstraction for posting questions, e.g. https://dev.to/ben/which-editori... but there are plans to add features to make the experience better. If you have anything in mind about how this could be more interactive in the future or better in any way, feel free to DM me on Twitter or email me ben@dev.to.

Hi @bhalp1, congrats, it looks really good, will try to write an article this weekend.

@deve1oper You rock, Marcelo!

That is fast! What stack are you using?

Loved it. currently listening to Cortana skills podcast on dev.to but one thing is that the font style could have been better.

Just checked out the site, and I love it! My favorite section is the podcast section. The attention to detail is superb, especially the logo of the podcast spinning like a vinyl record, that is a nice touch. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ πŸ’―
Ben Halpern
@_guled_ Thanks! There's still work to be done on the podcast section. I have a lot of ideas to make it more useful, so I'm glad it's already being well-received.

Great to see your work make it's debut on PH, congratulations! We are also developer focused and it is good to see others like yourselves succeeding. Good to see Eric Normand's articles, they are always insightful. Keep up the great work!

@jessleenyc great product. I just published a post that may be useful for developers like me, https://dev.to/pradeep_io/7-desi... Have tons of ideas to post here. Would be posting more soon.

@pradeep_io @jessleenyc Awesome Pradeep! This is just the kind of stuff we love to see on the platform β€” useful insights that can help others in their coding endeavors.
