@jerols Word. I like the way the app looks but I wish I could try before I buy. Also, not sure if I'd pay $3.99 when Coleurs is free. :\ ... https://couleursapp.com/
@androidlove@ernopp As in, taking advantage of the Touch Bar? This was a side project by @cbillins that we realized was turning out really well and we made it into a full on product. The Touch Bar was a nice coincidence. Our hopes for this app are to make enough to keep it up and continue to add features.
@androidlove This is a bizarre comment to see on PH. The Touch Bar is going to be on millions of users laptops in a year from now, the product linked above is a cool use of it and features like the Touch Bar really explode when developers make use of them. What exactly is superficial about any of that?
Nice! Looks really lovely.
However, I don't get the "convenience" of having the colors on the touch bar. Why not just click and select them on the screen instead of taking your eyes off it, looking down to the keyboard, searching again for the color you selected and then tapping it? Doesn't make any sense to me, just seems like a feature that's there just because.
I guess it's the Apple Effect. :p
@antonis_tsagari when you are coding, you are using the keyboard. This gives quick access to copying common colors for your app or website design into your code as you are typing. No need to reach for the mouse.
Does the app have a menubar icon? Does it have quick access to copied colors? Does it have the ability to save color palettes? I currently use Sip (https://www.producthunt.com/post...) and they make it very easy to do all of the things I just mentioned and more. Is Drop just accessed/used in an app form as the first window on your website hints at?
@bmoondesigner we don't have plans for that yet. I would like to better understand the value of that feature for you. Would it be to have the color palette from Drop synced with that of the default color picker?
@jerols just curious :) some Mac applications have the default Mac color picker which doesn't have a Hex code input. I use this plugin to add another tab for that functionality. https://www.macupdate.com/app/ma...
@gleb_dvoryatkin Thanks Gleb! @cbillins deserves the credit. This was his little side project — he designed it, learned Swift in order to build it, and did most of the marketing stuff too. I just helped on some of the nerdy stuff... and I'll take credit for the zooming loupe :)
