Dropover provides a storage shelf that allows you stash, gather and move any draggable content without having to open side-by-side windows. Simply shake your cursor while dragging to invoke a new shelf or drop your drags onto the menubar icon.
Dropover is a Mac utility that I use everyday. It replaces DragonDrop and adds several convenient features, including (in this updated version) convenient cloud sharing to your own Dropbox account!
Grab a file, give it a shake, and send it to Dropover. It's the best shelf app for the Mac.
Thanks for the hunt, @chrismessina!
This project started as an experiment to learn Swift and macOS development (I'm actually an iOS developer). It's inspired by other drag & drop apps, but they didn't fully fit my workflow. So I decided to see how far I can come to fill in these gaps (e.g. minimal UI, dragged content preview & easy sharing).
Dropover improves the drag & drop experience on Mac by providing a storage shelf where you can stash your drags. Just shake your cursor while dragging and drop your files onto the shelf that floats on top of all other windows. Then navigate to your destination without anxiety and move/copy all items at once.
It's also great for quickly sharing files. Upload your dragged files with one click and get the public link copied, right from the shelf. It comes with built-in cloud service but also supports iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive & Imgur.
There's much more but if your workflow includes organising, managing or sharing files, then you should give Dropover a shot.
I hope you like it, and if you have any feedback, let me know!
As someone who's been using Dropover for more than a month at this point, I can safely say that this is a must-have for anyone who works around moving and/or copying files regularly!
