Buying a home is a long, complicated process that most people don’t understand. DwellWell Community provides a space for homebuyers to ask anonymous questions about the real estate market and get answers from peers and experts alike.

Have just started thinking about what it would take the buy a home and it was awesome to go through the initial steps via Dwellwell and have the whole process laid out for us. Super excited to have the community section as well now to be able to read other people's experiences and ask questions!

The idea for DwellWell came about when I was looking to buy a home and realized how woefully uninformed I was. The standard approach to overcome this information gap seemed outdated (relying on parents who hadn’t bought a home in decades) or overbearing (connecting with an agent before I was ready). We’re so excited to introduce our purpose-built community that allows you to get informed without getting bombarded by cold-calls. Enjoy!

Hey PH! I’m Sam Carow, Cofounder & CTO of DwellWell (https://dwellwell.com). We launched our homebuying app to PH last year and it was great (https://www.producthunt.com/post...), so we’re pumped to announce our new Homebuying Community feature! The DwellWell Community was built so your home buying questions can be answered by peers and experts alike. You can post crazy home listings, ask about those cracks in your walls that make you nervous, or post your super-specific home buying situation. Your questions will be answered by other home buyers, the DwellWell staff, and real estate experts! The best part is that you can remain totally anonymous, so you won’t have to worry about getting spammed by brokers. The inspiration for our DwellWell Community came from the 5 years I spent as an engineer at Reddit. I know how valuable community can be, especially for millennials, who are the first generation that use internet communities to shape their opinions and behaviors. We found that most people had no clue what they were doing when it came to buying a house, but they did trust their peer network when asking for advice. We thought – why just rely on your peers when we could also bring experts into the mix? Now there’s a space for you to ask whatever you want, whenever you want. The team and I will be around all day, so please post your comments, questions, and feedback (either here or on our DwellWell Community at https://community.dwellwell.com)! 👋 We’re looking forward to chatting!

I’m so excited this feature went live! For those who don’t have parents or friends to turn to when purchasing their first home it can be overwhelming and scary. This community changes that! Any questions, broad or hyper specific, will be answered by industry pros, DwellWell peers, and other home buyers to help even the playing field. This ensures that buyers feel confident throughout their home buying journey and can avoid any costly mistakes!

What I love most about this feature is that you can ask literally anything and it’s usually guaranteed that someone else has already experienced something similar. I would highly recommend getting your questions out or just browsing over the questions that have already been posted. They are really insightful.

What better way to connect with other homebuyers than this. Can’t think of another community like it. So much hard work and planning! Personally my favorite part of this new feature is the ability to comment on Zillow/Redfin listings, definitely going to share some opinions on those. Looking forward to seeing all the great questions being asked AND answered 🙌🏻

DwellWell is a total game changer! Initially the home buying process seemed very scary and intimidating but after using the most basic functions on DwellWell I feel much more secure in taking my next step in the home buying process. In addition their new feature allows you to get other people's experience as well so you're not alone!

The housing market / buying process is insane and there is a general lack of understanding until you are in the process. And even then its confusing AF. Dwellwell has a great mission to make this process more digestible and overall a better experience for home buyers. It's one of those things that make you wonder how this company didn't exist sooner.

As an immigrant and first-time buyer, the home buying process can sound scary. DwellWell has provided us guidance with a very simple step by step process so we can eventually make an informed decision. Very excited about the community section, it would be extremely helpful :) looking forward to!

When moving to a new state, we had all sorts of questions, where to live and what home to buy was at the top of the list! Especially these days, when finding the right home and going through the process can be difficult, and knowing who to trust can be even harder. Thankful for DwellWell and the DwellWell Community for a place to gain a better understanding of the area and ask the questions needed.

@sam_carow @mdcanzoneri Super congratulations on the launch 🚀🎉🎉 Amazing concept. I was just wondering is there a India launch on the cards somewhere? The Indian rconomy is booming with millenial home buyers like me that do not know how to go about buying a house. This would be a great thing for us. 😇

@mdcanzoneri @adityasinghrajput We would truly LOVE to go international in the future, but first we need to get things really cranking in the US :)

This is awesome. I love that there is a place to ask any and all questions I might have about the homebuying process and get an expert opinion rather than relying on my limited network. I’m personally buying a house in the next few months and I have a lot of questions and want to ensure I don’t make any mistakes along the way. I want to ensure that I buy a home that is the right investment for me as a young person with a single income who recently moved to the LA area. This will be a super helpful place for me to ask for advice!

I am excited that we can connect anyone with an interest in real estate with other like minded individuals in our new DwellWell Community! Another BIG WIN for home buyers everywhere as DwellWell continues to simplify the home buying process!

Community is one of my favorite features of DwellWell. As we continue to build a valuable, unbiased experience for homebuyers to expand their knowledge and reclaim agency in the home buying process, a peer-to-peer information-sharing center is a natural fit. Homebuyers are coming to the Community and sharing unique, personal situations and questions, and it’s rewarding to how many thoughtful and helpful responses they receive!

This is very neat. Well done!

A home buying community would be great so that I have people who can share stories to help give insight and advice about confusing things like private mortgage insurance or HOAs.

DwellWell has given me so much peace of mind in the home buying process! It demystifies the whole process from end to end and helps me feel like I have some control over my experience and decision making. Excited this community is here to broaden the support even further!

I wish DwellWell existed back when I bought my first home. I ended up using the first realtor I spoke to. Thankfully, they ended up doing a good job, but I always wonder what opportunities I missed out on by not interviewing more before selecting a realtor.

This is pure gold. I recently purchased a home and even with a super strong support network that is familiar with the industry, I still had a ton of unanswered questions and often felt nervous and uncertain. I felt like I was constantly having to weigh out pros and cons in my head for each property. It would have been super helpful if I could have engaged with a trusted community to ask questions and talk through my options. For example, I came across so many properties that were 'flip' homes and I didn't know how to appropriately evaluate these homes and their quality. Additionally, once the documents came in to sign (as well as the inspection report), I felt overwhelmed and had already used up so much of my families time that I felt guilty constantly asking them questions. Next time I buy a home, i'll be looking to Dwellwell community to help me feel more comfortable and secure during the home buying process.

What an amazing feature, building a community of like-minded home buyers and industry experts who can share their experiences and help further education on the process. So powerful!
