Congrats on the launch and very cool approach @tracy_hinds and @operatorjen! Looks like the focus is mostly on activity tracking now, correct? Any future roadmap plans you can share beyond tracking? Also, do y'all have any background in substance misuse/addiction treatment?

@operatorjen @emiliehsieh Great questions! My early work in healthcare was at an outpatient detox and addictions clinic here in NYC. On top of my own friends & family experiences with substance misuse, I saw the impact that a harm reduction model could have for our patients struggling. We saw folks from all walks of life—college students, unions, Wall Street bankers. There weren't enough flexible treatment options and on-ramps to recovery for all the needs we saw, and I've seen that to this day. As I transitioned into engineering, I saw how tech wasn't actually helping people in healthcare. I promised myself I'd learn what I needed, and meet the people who could help along the way(including my cofounder, and our clinical advisor), to circle back and finally make impact. Here we are today!

@tracy_hinds @emiliehsieh Hi Emilie - thanks for the support! Currently, we are focused on activity tracking with an emphasis on tracking triggers. Tracking triggers over time can provide substantial information in terms of helping a person understand how to improve and overcome anxieties and stressors in their life. Our future roadmap features include locational trigger detection, enabling one to actively manage their day to day progress.

@emiliehsieh @operatorjen From our backgrounds in building communities and the intersection of our work here in addictions, we also understand how vital a sense of support and community is to making small, sustaining changes in a recovery process. We're excited to sew this expertise into a community component in-app soon.

Today you can... - Build small weekly goals for reducing your substance of choice - Track your select daily activities to see progress towards your incremental goals - Gain Insights for self-reflection and building the tools for your lasting progress - Learn from curated content to build your growing knowledge towards a better day to day Addictions research has long established that a sense of autonomy is vital to setting up long term recovery that works. This can be accomplished through putting the patient in the driver’s seat and teaching them the tools to make lasting progress—small goals at a time. ➡️ Our why 🤝 Did you know it takes an average of 10 years for someone to ultimately find sobriety? What about all the folks who aren’t quite sure, but certainly aren’t content, with how they feel after consuming their substance(s) of choice? What if sober isn’t your goal(or need)? The consequences of substance misuse are a painful spectrum you’ve problem witnessed or experienced—they all impact your quality of life. From relationships to health issues escalating up to the possibilities of housing insecurity, incarceration, and even overdose, substance misuse is a staggering and complicated problem for any person to struggle through. Finding help, even when you are aware you need it, can be overwhelming. The existing solutions aren’t cutting it—there’s little variety for transitional support from acute care to long-term recovery. And the less formal, widely available options leave folks feeling judgement and shame. We faced our families and friends struggling through crisis after crisis, and read the tragic consequences of missing support reported in the news daily over the pandemic. We knew we couldn’t wait any longer—we had the expertise and connections to make it a reality. (I really wish this had existed during peak lockdown!) Crow & Pitcher, Inc. is a registered Public Benefit Company (PBC). A PBC provides a public good to society beyond merely creating shareholder value. In our charter: *to positively impact the quality of life for those seeking substance use long-term recovery through technology while embracing an evidence-driven, privacy-first, and systems-centric approach.* Addiction and substance misuse are complicated experiences that intersect medical, mental, and physical health. We strive to partner with other organizations, many who would be perceived as our competitors, to provide a comprehensive array of tools towards a better quality of life. The rising tide lifts all boats! ➡️ We’re looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback, and happy to answer questions!
