Hi Product Hunt community ๐Ÿ‘‹ There are so many coding copilots for engineers today, but where are copilots for non-coding tasks like drawing architecture diagrams and writing tech docs? Eraser has generated 1 million+ (!) diagrams for our users in the last year and we are excited to launch Eraser AI, the first copilot for technical design. We want to take out the tedious parts of technical design for engineers and architects. Here's what's special about Eraser AI: ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Rapid diagram generation โ€“ Draw that diagram in seconds, not hours. Eraser can generate beautiful, colorful, icon-studded diagrams. Choose from 4 different diagram types and include images in your prompts if you'd like. โš™๏ธ Full control on editing โ€“ You have a first draft, how do you make it perfect? This is where Eraser AI really shines. If you know exactly what you want, you can make direct diagram code edits. If it's open-ended or tedious edits, you can follow up with more AI prompts. Eraser AI always gives you full control. ๐Ÿ“ƒ Tech doc outline generation โ€“ You're now set on diagrams, but need to write a design doc along with that diagram? We've got you covered. With Eraser AI, you can generate outlines for planning docs (RFCs, design docs) or documentation (READMEs). Eraser AI is free to try! ๏ปฟwww.eraser.io/ai

Appreciate that @kchris22. Thanks for the support!
Shin Kim
@imtiyaz922 thank you! yes, we try to infuse bits of playfulness in our branding and product. thank yo you for noticing it!
Shin Kim
@deshraj_singh yes, it's about time!
Konrad S.
Very interesting, I see this may be really useful. Why do you call it Eraser? (just curious :)
Shin Kim
@konrad_sx try it out and please let us know what you think! We want Eraser to "erase" complexity from your technical design and documentation! Also what's a whiteboard without an eraser ๐Ÿ˜›
German Syroezhkin
Using it daily for all of my projects. Super useful when you need to change a tiny bot and redraw the whole scheme because of it - Eraser does it all for you
Eugene Tsakh
@laocool Thank you German! We are glad you find Eraser to be such a useful tool!

This looks like a super useful addition to the developer toolchain. If you need to communicate your stack or cloud setup across teams, to your devs, or up to management, Eraser AI is a fast and efficient way to do so. It builds on Eraser's existing shared whiteboarding capabilities and adds the ability to conversationally requests changes to existing diagrams or designs. Like OmniGraffle of the future!
Ehsan Noursalehi
Thanks for the hunt @chrismessina. Appreciate you sharing Eraser AI with the wonderful ProductHunt community.
Shin Kim
@chrismessina oh no, not OmniGraffle! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I'm kidding :) Well said! Thank you for hunting Eraser and your thoughtful product / GTM input. It has been invaluable!
Tiep Vu
So you tell me that I can now design with written words? That's great! I have been spending years using Figma and now I know this tool. Great job guys! Upvoted!
Shin Kim
@tiepvuvan You bet! A lot of indie hackers tell us their work pipeline is Figma (for mockup) โ†’ Eraser (for technical design) > VS Code (to write code).
Ehsan Noursalehi
Thank you @tiepvuvan I am glad you came across Eraser and I hope it finds a home in your development workflow. We find that it works very well with Figma to fill a void at both the start and end of our Figma-based product design work.
Tiep Vu
@shin_kim1 Would love to hear your and your team's thoughts on our product as well, Shin. We're launching right now!
Tiep Vu
@thisisehsan Great, Ehsan. We are drawing AppAlloy with Figma as well. Come see and give us your thoughts!
Niels Hoven
Your demo video is hilarious, nice work! I wish this existed 6 months ago when I was writing some of our first database specs!
Shin Kim
@nielshoven thanks, we had a lot of fun making the video! Better late than never, you might want to make some database diagrams as documentation!
Darren Chait
Love the product. Love the team. Love what it enables me to do. You've solved for the hardest part of diagramming โ€“ especially for a non-technical tech person like myself! Congrats team. Can't wait to see what's next!
Shin Kim
@darren_chait thank you for your support Darren! Manual diagramming does tend to be a chore whether it's technical or not!
Abe Clark
Weโ€™ve been using Eraser for our Engineering team collaboration for 1yr+ โ€” AI features make it unmatched for diagraming.
Yoel Tadmor
@abe_clark Thanks for the shoutout!
Ehsan Noursalehi
Very glad to hear that @abe_clark. Happy Eraser has been working out well for you
James Labastida
We've been using Eraser for almost just about everything. Growth, Product, Engineering, Design. All our processes (even outside of Engineering) are beautifully articulated in Eraser. InfoSec & Compliance procedures were also fun to build out in Eraser. Git, Linear, Eraser, and VSC are easily in my daily toolbox

Maxime Dolores
Eraser is one of my favorite whiteboarding tools, easy to get going, a free tier which is reasonable enough when you want to share a board with someone
Shin Kim
@m_dolr really appreciate your endorsement here Maxime! We really try to make it easy to get started but powerful enough to handle complexity so this means a lot to us.
Ehsan Noursalehi
@m_dolr so glad to hear that!
Viet Le
This is a game changer!
Shin Kim
@viet_le Thank you Viet!! ๐Ÿ™

Eraser AI sounds like an exciting and much-needed tool! As an angel investor and podcaster, I'm always on the lookout for innovative solutions that address pain points for engineers and architects. Let's dive deeper into your pitch: 1. **Rapid Diagram Generation**: Could you provide more details about the types of diagrams Eraser AI can generate? Are these architectural diagrams, flowcharts, or something else? And how does the process work? Is it based on user input or some predefined templates? 2. **Full Control on Editing**: It's great that Eraser AI allows direct diagram code edits. Can you elaborate on how users can make those edits? Is there a specific syntax or interface they use to fine-tune their diagrams? 3. **Tech Doc Outline Generation**: Generating outlines for planning docs and documentation is a valuable feature. How does Eraser AI create these outlines? Does it analyze the content of the diagrams or rely on additional user input? Feel free to share more insights, and I'm eager to learn about the specifics of Eraser AI! AI Jay Cal at http:// pitchdeck.solution ๐Ÿ˜Š

@dadtoor Hi! Thank you for the questions. 1. There are 4 diagram types โ€“ flow charts, sequence diagrams, ERDs, and cloud architecture diagrams. You just need to describe the diagram using natural language and the diagram will be generated and expressed using our diagram syntax. 2. Yes, Eraser has its own diagram syntax which the user can fully edit to make the diagram just right. 3. It relies on user input โ€“ similar to the diagram prompt, the user is asked to describe the project or document they are working on. Eraser AI will ask follow up questions to make sure a balanced document can be created!
