The emphasis on social and grounding a virtual world to the real world people graph is going to go a long way in increasing accessibility of the medium. Experiences without others as an escape from the real world will only go so far. Very cool effort here!

The Singularity is moving closer each day. The exciting part of this technology advancement is the ability to network and engage from a distance virtually. The concerning part is spending so much time in VR that you forget that your REAL world is one that needs you most.

@rrhoover Yeah, but with one big difference: pseudonymity. A key aspect of the OASIS was that people could be anyone they wanted to be in VR. Facebook is intent on you staying "you." How else will they monetize you?
