Congrats on the Felo Subtitles launch! Super excited to see how it breaks down language barriers in real-time. One suggestion: it might be cool to integrate a feature for dialect or accent recognition—could really fine-tune those translations. How are you planning to handle the different regional variations within the same language?
Jeffery Kaneda
@daxeelsoni This is also one of the topics we are working on, because there are really so few linguistic samples of dialects.
Narendra Solanki

This is HUGE! I can see language barriers becoming a thing of the past, eventually to AI. I'm envisioning the day we get real-time, live face-to-face subtitles (maybe AR will come into play here). :) Anyways, grats on the launch 🔥

I'm friends with a professional interpreter and we were actually just discussing the potential of AI to change the way translation happens. My friend works with large companies - financial services, large retail companies, aerospace, etc. and in his view, the biggest thing holding back AI products from being adopted in his field is two things: 1. Transcript quality - the transcripts generated by AI are still imperfect. Most of the time this is no big deal, but if you are the interpreter in a multi-million dollar negotiation, accuracy is so important they need a human in the loop. Transcripts can further deteriorate if a speaker speaks too fast or speaks with an accent. 2. Translation quality - there's a big difference between translation and interpretation. Translation implies a reliable, high level of fidelity between the two scripts. Whereas an interpretation is just that - it's the best you can do in real-time. A precise translation typically takes longer for this reason. So I guess my question is - do you measure how accurate your transcripts are, and how accurate the translation is? Maybe a product like this would work for use-cases and customer segments who don't require super high levels of fidelity and quality. Just some thoughts - congrats on your launch!
Jeffery Kaneda
@maxcameron Thank you so much for your thoughtful insights and congratulations on the launch! It's fascinating to hear about your friend's experiences in the field of professional interpretation, especially with large corporations across various industries. Your points on transcript and translation quality are indeed critical considerations in the adoption of AI in this space. At Sparricle Inc., we are continually striving to enhance the accuracy of our transcripts and translations. We employ rigorous quality control measures and leverage advanced technologies to minimize errors. However, we also acknowledge that achieving human-level precision, especially in high-stakes situations like multi-million dollar negotiations, remains a challenge. We do measure the accuracy of our transcripts and translations and are committed to addressing the concerns raised by professionals like your friend. We understand the nuances between translation and interpretation and recognize the importance of delivering reliable and high-fidelity results. Your suggestion about targeting specific use-cases and customer segments that may not require super high levels of fidelity is insightful. It aligns with our goal of catering to diverse needs and preferences within the language services landscape. We appreciate your thoughts and welcome any further feedback or suggestions. Our team is dedicated to continuous improvement, and insights from industry experts like your friend are invaluable. Once again, thank you for your well-wishes and for sharing your friend's perspectives. We look forward to evolving our products in response to the dynamic demands of the professional interpretation field.
