@sar_kar1 congrats on the launch! The API is definitely going to be very useful. How long is the file stored at your end? Once you've paid API, will you be accepting Dogecoin :) ?
If we don't accept dogecoin what's the purpose then π, thanks for your kind words. As this moment the files is stored until the owner delete them we are in process of implementing an auto expire system for the files is the user wants it they can choose and expire date when uploading the file

I think the storage time definition is quite important.
Regarding privacy, how do you process the uploaded files?
And also, is there any type of file size restriction?
@lucasdubois we treat all the uploaded assets as (File) so there is no modification, compression, type restriction, we store the file like it was uploaded.
currently we support max 200MB upload size by the end of the month this limit will reach 2GB.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant what type of access do you have to the file? How is the privacy of the file uploaded handled?
?makers great job with the launch! You have taken the friction out from sharing files - no sign up, no ads.
I'm concerned about this product because file storage and sharing is a very simple need, but most products will be short-lived if not profitable.
Regarding API profitability, I think you use AWS cloud storage or other object storage functions,οΌso the price will not be cheaper than using the source product directly.
So what can you rely on to make money?
@mad_lifer Thanks, I Understand you concerns, API will not be our only way to make a profit also we can go pretty low price on the API and make it up with other services we will provide, we will launch another section on the website soon (Cloud Storage) where user can upload and keep their files there this service will be monthly subscription based.
Also we do not use AWS Cloud Storage for File Doge, hence we will be having better pricing .

@je_suis_yaroslav Thanks glad you like it. The product will be free for now and forever the only part that may be become pay to use is the API even with that we will still give a generous free plan
As we look at the internet we soon found out a good sharing services was rather hard to find there are a lot of options each have it's own drawbacks such as (account requirement , too many ads) because of that we made File Doge our aim is to make filesharing an easy task that it don't take your time.
Pricing
The file doge website is free and always will be like that and do not change under no circumstances.
API
File doge provide easy and free and unmetered API for now, though we are not sure that the API will remain for free or unmetered. we are looking for sponsors to let the API to be free

Very cool! But how will you keep it on the air if everything is free? It's awesome that its free but for me it creates doubts that it will stay active for years to come even if it was plausible.
@gerhard_van_der_westhuizen Thanks, of course we need a way to generate income to keep the service running, we have stated that the API won't be free in the long run,
The second stage of the website will be a cloud storge where user can save their files like Google Drive, Drop box but much simpler and easy to use of course with a great price and possible the best in the market. the current scope of the website is File Sharing this is free and always will be. the cloud storge will be subscription based alongside with the API
