@nivo0o0 a classic use case would be a value investor wanting to wait for a bargain at a certain percentage discount to a stock's current valuation. A limit order to buy (or sell) might provide a similar opportunity to trade automatically at a certain price value but in our case a trade would not be initiated, instead you might look at the market as a whole before you bought or sold the stock you are watching. Firetail might be one tool in your belt to help you buy at the right time instead of following the whims of an up and down market. Scenario 1: you read your favorite value investor magazine and find 10 stocks that you think are at a great valuation and are willing to buy them today because you believe they are undervalued. Because you're careful you set an alert for each of them at 10% off with the reasoning that if they're at a great value today they would be at a better valuation if they were 10% off. Scenario 2: you want in on the latest growth stock that everyone is going crazy over but it just went up 20% today, so instead of buying right now you look at this month's chart and choose to mark a near term low and buy when it dips. Scenario 3: You're a responsible long term investor and you've owned a stock that is starting to get overvalued so you set an alert for a recent high to remind you to make your move and sell at the right time.

Since cryptocurrency is the hottest thing around, it seems like an odd choice to make an app for the stock market. Is someone not missing the boat?
Last time I checked, Android had something like 85% market share with iOS around 10%.
What drives people to release apps for iOS first or iOS-only in 2017 ?
It's like knowing that the world speaks English but localising for Gaelic initially with an English language release further down the roadmap.

I’m a product builder that has been in the industry for about 10 years. Occasionally I like to play with the stock market. Firetail was built to scratch an itch that I didn't think anyone else had done well yet. Simple Stock Alerts displayed beautifully.
My brother and I have been playing with building a few apps as form of rapid education for him. While I've been programming for over a decade he's fairly new to it, so besides a few weekend game projects we decided to build Firetail as a bigger code challenge for him. I'd say he's doing pretty well!
For the design I wanted to do some unique things with the graphs. While most stock apps have an expected graph layout, I wanted to experiment with some unique graph experiences. There are three purposeful graph experiences in the app.
We built in a variety of alert methods to meet needs: email, SMS, flash, and push notifications.
Stock Exchanges currently supported: NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX, OTCMKTS 🔥

Stock Alerts are important not just to track news regarding my Fav stocks. The real need arises to track if
a) There is a new market report on the company by some Analyst
b) The Stock Gives a Buy/Sell Signal on Major Technical Indicators.
As mentioned by others would love to see 3-4 Major Crytocurrencies tracked by the app

@amrit_aacharya1 TLDR: Yes and Yes. Long answer: for the long run of this product we want it to be a bit more intelligent then your standard manual stock alerts. Instead of just reporting news or tracking major indicators, we have an AI we've been training for well over a year now to give us intelligent buy/sell alerts based on societal conditions, including news and major indicators, but that's just the start of what it monitors. Think a bit like Trump2Cash: https://www.producthunt.com/post... but much more advanced and all inclusive market wide. If you want updates on that product feel free to put your email down on http://vulture.ai So far Vulture has been able to predict highs and lows of daily market swings fairly accurately ahead of market conditions. With that intelligence running through the veins of Firetail it should super charge the overall experience.
