Flow is beautiful project and task management software for teams everywhere.

The new Flow introduces a brand-new look and feel, powerful project planning and resource management tools, and greater flexibility for different teams and workflows.

@markhenderson77 In this new UI design you no longer allow me (paid account) to see other user's tasks? I was able to see other user's tasks without any problem for over a year until right now.
Vahan Avagyan
@markhenderson77 just went back to the older UI — i am able to see other user's tasks. Is this some sort of a sneaky 'pay me for something that was not paid' move in the new UI?
Jesse Herlitz
@markhenderson77 @vahanavagyan I totally get where you're coming from. In the old UI we'd allow people to click on someone's profile through the people page and see their tasks one Team at a time. It was a bit of a buried feature that was pretty limited in functionality, and not a ton of people were using it as a result. With Task Profiles we added: - The ability to see a coworkers tasks across all the teams they're a part of, and filter out Teams all in the same view. - The ability to see a weekly task calendar for that individual across all their teams (also filterable) - See their private tasks that you're subscribed to. - Favorite coworker's task profiles for quick access alongside your own. This is now front and center proper feature that enables team management, rather than a buried feature with a quarter of the functionality. For whatever it's worth, you can use the PRODUCTHUNT discount code to offset a move to Pro and then some. <3

@markhenderson77 @jesseherlitz Even tho we were (still are?) paying account, i now see a 'Start a New Trial' button in my account and i get 'Start a New Organization' — unsure if i should move on with this button since my intention is to continue using current account. Pls advise. p.s. thans for the 'PRODUCTHUNT' — i'll happily apply it to our plan.
Jesse Herlitz
@markhenderson77 @vahanavagyan This is if you want to create a new organization, separate from the one you've got going. It's been there in old Flow too for quite some time.
Vahan Avagyan
@markhenderson77 @jesseherlitz okay this is now getting confusing — before i could easily see my current paying plan and right now i see no such option which makes me uncertain, are we still on a paying plan or dropped from being paying plan to get on the new pricing structure (i've noticed you guys also modified plans). pls advise.

My favourite team management tool out of Trello, Basecamp, Asana and Pivotal tracker. My team was using the previous version of Flow for a couple of years, and this beta for the last few months. Psyched to see it all go live!

P.S. Love the music in the video :)

Pros:

Fast, focused, flexible enough for both our design and dev teams.

Cons:

Missing some dedicated software tracking features like velocity tracking, but we use labels and naming to get around this. Still worth it.

Adam McCann
In fairness, proper velocity tracking (i.e. it being useful so it gives you a steer on how much the team can do in the next sprint) isn't even in JIRA! We had to build a custom tool to do this (in JIRA).
Alex Slade
Been using the beta for a little while, congrats on getting it all live! Who did the launch video? It's awesome :P
Alex Slade
That track especially - can't seem to find it?
Aidan Hornsby
@alexheeton thanks Alex! We did it in-house. The awesome track is Zoxio by Fear of Tigers, one of my favourite artists: https://itunes.apple.com/au/albu...
Alex Slade
@aidanhornsby Awesome, thanks :)

Flow is one of th best PM apps I’ve ever used

Pros:

Beautiful and focused project management software.

Cons:

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Steven Hambleton
Hey @markhenderson77, does Flow support agencies that want to invite their clients to specific projects (like Basecamp)?
Aidan Hornsby
@stinhambo hey Steven, we don’t currently have dedicated / limited guest account right now, but we’re working on that — watch this space!
Steven Hambleton
@aidanhornsby That's great to know! I was going to experiment with that but I thought I'd ask too. It's important to know how Flow would look from a guest's perspective too. I prefer if a guest has a simplified version of the UI where they can simply see tasks assigned to them broken down by project. I don't think they need much more than that!
Steven Hambleton
@aidanhornsby Secondly (if I may!) I'd love to see Task and Project Templates (like Teamwork). It would make managing client work so much easier!
Aidan Hornsby
@stinhambo it's totally possible today to invite 'limited' users to your org, who can only view specific teams and projects. We don't currently support showing a different UI to user types, though.

Enjoyed using the beta of the product and how it's improved over the year to help manage my team's projects.

Pros:

Visually pleasing and use of Gantt workflow is helpful for larger project planning.

Cons:

Can't see any

Conrad Egusa
Great job Mark & the Flow team!
Mark Henderson
@conradegusa Thanks!!

Really loving the new Flow! We have two team departments, writers and the internal management team. It's slick UI and easy to use features makes on-boarding and using the app for tasks super simple and efficient for both departments.

Pros:

Very slick UI and great across team sizes.

Cons:

None so far

kimia hamidi
Absolutely love the video, definitely the second-best Flow product video. Anyone else remember this vintage gem? https://sandwichvideo.com/projec...
Phil Buckendorf
This looks like "Let's copy Roadmap https://onroadmap.com as much as we can add more gasoline on it". Why are you guys not simply teaming up and build one amazing product everyone would benefit from?
Rok Benedik
Is it just me, or does it really look like Roadmap after this update? https://www.producthunt.com/post...
wojtek
@benedikrok Nope, not just you. That's the first thing I thought about after seeing the gallery.
Jesse Herlitz
@benedikrok Hop in and check it out, we're quite different products. Flow has had timelines for quite some time.
Will Fraser

Used Flow to plan and manage several marketing projects. Enjoyed the experience and the ease at which we could see how every project impacted the others.

Also had all the essential project management / task management features.

Pros:

New design makes it even cleaner, timelines feature lets me visualize project interdependencies and workloads helps manage resources.

Cons:

Not a fan of emojis in the app (but those can be deleted)

Stowe Boyd

I use markdown in several other daily tools -- Dynalist and Lightpaper -- so that is essential. Making URLs to task available is exceptionally helpful.

Pros:

Great UX, support for markdown, rich task model, rich sharing model, rich presentation model

Cons:

Lacks support for checklists and tables; lacks comments on project descriptions; otherwise, very complete

Brian Cox
Great looking app. Will continue playing with it for personal projects. What would push me over the edge is more dedicated sprint support. This is the sad reason I had to leave Asana and move the team to Jira. The flexibility is great, but at the end of the day there are many open ended project-board services and not enough development cycle services. Would love to see Flow find it’s niche there.
Jesse Herlitz
@0xc00010ff dogg, you and me both.
Stephen Campbell
@0xc00010ff But... you can easily create your own SDLC template (or borrow one). How is this hindering your usage of apps like Flow and/or Jira? Help me out here...
Jeff Eisley
Freemium or bust!
Brian Benitez
Awesome team task management from an awesome team! Congrats on the launch!
John
@markhenderson77 Congrats on the launch Mark looks much improved and most importantly productive. Just trialling the platform as we speak, do you plan on improving the mobile app, 2.7-star rating slightly worrying in such a mobile world. To me its somewhere between Roadmap / Trello / Asana, of which have freemium plans available, what would you say differentiates your platform?
Mark Henderson
@johndesk27 Thanks John! We've actually got a brand new mobile app coming your way in the next couple months. If you'd like to join our beta program please email me at mark.henderson at getflow dot com. With freemium, often that model requires you to gate your most valued features and we decided against that. One of the goals for New Flow was to give our current customers more value, and make bigger features for bigger teams optional, but still affordable for smaller teams. As to how we differentiate, our customers tell us over and over again that Flow is super easy to use, but I think the tools you named also do a really great job of that. The one thing that Flow does differentiate on is our flexibility. Flows at its best when there’s multiple teams collaborating together. Our goal is that different teams can work different ways in the same tool.
Cameron Conaway

This is Flow's biggest improvement to date, in my opinion. It's been rebuilt from the ground up, taking into account feedback from countless focused teams at work.

Pros:

No project management software better pairs functionality with clean UI.

Cons:

Giving it a shot means letting go of existing PM tools. Letting go can be hard.

Alfonso Victoria

I loved Getflow while it lasted, but it seems they changed their pricing plan with a recent update. Same old trend as other apps: priced for teams, not for freelancers.

Pros:

Flexible.

Cons:

Not for freelancers! Minimum is 3 users.
