Hey everyone, I'm Gavin, a co-founder of Fluent, and I'm glad you stopped by. We've been working like crazy since our first PH launch - and finally created a Fluent we're proud to call version 1.0
We've re-built Fluent around one idea. People LOVE learning. There's nothing better than seeing your skills gradually improve, week over week. We just hate bad teachers - the ones that make you feel stupid, like you'll never "get it".
That's why we've made your learning progress front and center. We want Fluent to be the best teacher, ever. That means cheering you on, every time you learn something new. It also means creating chances for you to show off your knowledge. Nothing feels better than learning something, and using it well.
We think that seeing yourself get a little better, every single day, is the best motivator of all.
So, what's new?
- Choose the words you want to learn by hovering over them. Fluent will translate them more often, so you learn way faster.
- Fluent tracks your progress for each word. Each time you see one, you'll make a bit *more* progress. If you hover over it, there may be a quiz to test your knowledge. Get it right, and you'll progress even faster. Eventually the word will be so familiar you can use it in your sleep.
- We celebrate your wins! Each completed word is a step closer to fluency. So, we colour them green, and drop confetti.
In the coming months we'll be release early access for new languages, and teaching phrases and grammar - so you can use the language even faster!

I’ve been following Fluent’s progress for a while now and had the opportunity to chat with the team — not only are they incredibly talented, they’ve built what I would say is the best language translation models in the market.

I couldn’t speak more highly of this product!! I’ve lost my French since there aren’t great places for me to practice here. I’ve tried other language learning apps but always end up not picking them up again. I’m really busy, so these gentle nudges from Fluent is literally exactly what I need! I've seen Fluent when they first launched on PH last year, and really impressed by the progress of what their team has achieved. The product has been brilliantly executed and anyone that wanted to learn a new language should definitely give them a try!
I can’t wait to go to an Italian restaurant’s menu and figure out how to say Pizza and Spaghetti in Italian!

You guys nailed it. I was always trying the new Language Learning Apps, and all-time my problem is to give them dedicated time. With Fluent, this new teacher teaches new languages daily without giving any extra time. 🙌

Love this product and the enthusiasm of the founding team. Excited for an integration with GCal so it automatically switches off when I have meetings scheduled: can be a tad embarrassing during a demo!

Congrats on the relaunch. The idea is amazing and so is your product. As someone who already uses Toucan, how would you make me switch to this?
@tushar_shahi1 Honestly, if you're learning a lot and are happy, who are we to tell you to switch? It's a great product with an incredible team. The difference between us at the moment, is we focus more on getting you to a point where you don't just know the words, you can use them conversationally. However, we don't offer nearly as many languages yet, since we're fully focused on how much we can teach with the ones we have. Give it a shot and decide for yourself :)

@jreeve0 Hi Joe, thanks a lot! We're a very small team at the moment, which is why we don't yet support Firefox, but it's coming soon. However, we are on Brave, it's a new browser made by Brendan Eich the creator of Firefox and Javascript that is privacy focused and has ad-blocker built in, so it's really fast. I recommend trying it out if you haven't. That being said, Firefox is coming for sure!

It has been so inspiring to watch the Fluent team relentlessly iterate on their vision for an amazing language learning experience. While I wish everyone reading this could know how amazing Gavin, Ara, Yaniv, and Olga are on a personal level, it is clear that their product reflects the values and drive they espouse themselves.
