Only con, uses Dart? They keep wanting that to be something... maybe?

So this is Google's React Native? I wonder how it compares.
Arthur Eudeline
@joshuapinter, no it doesn't work the same. There is no tools like expo for react native yet, but react native will just link React JavaScript code to a pseudo DOM made of Native components, where Flutter will user Dart Code compiled to machine language ARM, it will have best performances and the fact that all the UI is built on top of Skia, a Dart framework for ui, Flutter won't rely on native components but will render is own, it means that you'll have the exactly same rendering on both android ios, and soon Web and desktop apps ;) There is a very short video to explain what Flutter is if you're interested

@joshuapinter we have been working with Flutter for over 1 year now and it is flawless. Speed and Production time both are very fast.

You had Java they gave you Kotlin , You have React Native they are giving you Flutter (which runs on dart which is mostly long forgotten) whats up with the fragmentation ?

@halvi You had Objective C they gave you Swift 😂 But that's where innovation happens
Marcelo
Flutter looks promising. Doing Xamarin at the moment but willing to give it a try. Congrats for the beta release.

Just like React Native has its cons, what applications can't be made using Flutter?
Sachin Ganesh

I have been using this framework from past couple of weeks. Learning curve is high & it will be easy for you if you are coming from C# or Java background. It gives consistent UI across platforms and its blazing fast!. if you are into mobile app development, you should give it a try.

Pros:

Be ready! This is the Future of App Development!

Cons:

None

Arthur Eudeline

I think that it will be the future of apps development, good performances, simple to code, powerful, versatile and beautiful. It's more powerful and stable than react native according to me that tried both, but just it's just personal. The best argument for me: it will also be supported by desktop platforms and for web soon, and it's really cross-platform and the code is easily maintainable and reusable across projects thanks to the widget architecture

Pros:

Incredible performances, easy to code, reusable code, real cross-platform across android and ios and soon web and desktop platforms

Cons:

Dart langage is good but requires some time to master when you are from web developpement

Vinayak Joshi

looks promising. finally one UI framweork made by either google or apple that can be used for both iOS and Android

Pros:

made by google!

Cons:

none so far
