Hello everyone,
I’m Thibaud, the founder of folk. I’m really excited to share early access with you today. Everyone who sign ups in the next 24 hours will get priority access this week, and 3 months unlimited use for free. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback!
folk initially started as an internal tool at the startup studio eFounders — but we realized we weren’t the only ones that needed a CRM to centralize, organize and activate our contacts. Quickly, we decided to turn it into a fully-fledged company.
CRMs are the most widely used SaaS in companies, yet they are completely outdated. Onboarding users on CRMs isn’t easy. The tool is hardly customizable. The experience is not enjoyable.
We’ve been under the radar for the last 18 months, silently trying to invent the next generation of the CRM. We’re very inspired by the new generation of No-Code tools like Webflow, Airtable, Notion or Shopify. So we’re trying to bring the same level of customization, simplicity and delight, to reinvent the CRM for all.
We’re just getting started and iterating on the product, so we’re really excited to hear your thoughts.
AMA 😊
Hi,
Congrats for the launch some feedback:
- I received an access, and tried your app, then quit. Now I want to login again, but where is the login button on your public website? I only see to get an access
- I tried to import my contacts from my gmail. I received an email saying it was done. But I don't see any contacts. Is-it a bug?
- I tried to import some contacts from a CSV file. I want to keep some custom columns of data I have in this CSV. So I created new columns in your tool, but I can't associate my CSV columns to the new ones I created in your tool? If I can't keep my data, I will not use your app...
- I really like the Chrome Extension and Linkedin import feature. It doesn't fill the company column, it would be cool to do it.
- Your app design seems a bit "outdated" to me. Weird for a new product
So I have mix feelings, I like your promotion but the product seems to have been released too early and lacks testing.
@emerika Hey, thanks for your feedback.
We’ve removed the login button on our website just for today, to avoid too much traffic at once on the app, but no worries the button we’ll be back from tomorrow!
Regarding the import of your source, I just checked your account and the contacts were well imported, if you open the Search panel you'll find them (the number next to the search is not up to date yet, which is why you couldn't see them. We’re having a lot of traffic which might cause a little delay in calculating everything).
For the csv import feature, we are only able to match existing fields not the custom one yet, but we’ll improve soon! However, in the meantime if you want to import a file with custom field, you can send it over to me at julie@folk.app and I’ll gladly do it for you. Let me know :)
The LinkedIn extension should be importing the company name, I’ll check that!
Anyway thanks for the feedback and happy to jump in a quick call whenever you want to guide you through the best practices on folk.
@emerika Yes, imported contacts appear in the search panel (as unsorted contacts), then you just have to sort them into your groups. You can create as many groups as you want to organize your network the way you want !!
Congrats on the launch team Folk 👏
We've been using it for months, it's a real game changer for managing relationships as a team. Can't wait to see what's next!
Been using Folk for a few months now and loving it as a tool for our business to be able to share contacts without having to have a sales-focused CRM. Keep up the great work! 🙌
Hey @tiboel@julie_abec@simolemhandez , well done!! So happy to see this one come out of the ground 🔥
I've been one of the happy few to get early access and you guys have done an amazing work.
This is the custom CRM I had been waiting for - if you hadn't built it, I would have tried to build it myself 😄
Kudos!
@tiboel@julie_abec@simolemhandez@noemalzieu Definitely took some ground breaking work from several teams to put this one on its feet! Thanks for your work on the first iterations and showing the way!
@lsherman airtable deals with records, a generic object, we deal with contacts.
By changing this primitive, we allow to unlock more powerfull contact centric use cases such as emails synchronisation, sending messages directly from folk, leveraging your contact database, automatic data enrichment and deduplication and in rich automated workflows.
Wow, looks super clean and user friendly. Wondering if an Airtable Integration is on the roadmap to help transfer databases and increase automation potential!
It was high time someone built a good and user-friendly CRM. Folk’s UX is really above the competition and it makes it a breeze to use. Congrats on the launch!
I've been looking for a flexible way to keep track of contacts of different kinds for a long while, and @tiboel and the team are finally making it happen. Congrats!
