Forte is here to help you track your progress as you build new habits or quit old ones. Unlike other habits trackers, Forte doesn't set you back to zero for missing one day; Forte gives you a score for each habit instead of just counting streaks.

Thank you for not requiring an email address to start using the app. The app looks good and is easy to use

Just downloaded and using it. Love it that it doesn't need email and blah blah blah to get started. It just starts! Colour selector is nice. And there is no reason why I wouldn't use it. So looking forward to the next 7 days. You are lucky as I am reading Atomic Habits at the same time so habits is top of my mind right now :)

👋 Hey, Product Hunt! I'm the developer of Forte. I created Forte because I was unhappy with the state of habit trackers on the App Store. Typical habit trackers focus on streaks as the primary metric to track habit building. The problem with this is that users can build up this streak for weeks or months just to have it set back to zero in one day. In my experience, this is extremely demotivating and one study on habit formation showed missing one day did not have any affect on forming habits. That is why tracking streaks is unhelpful in the long term. Forte is different. Forte calculates a score based on every time you complete, skip, or fail to complete a habit. Failing one day will set your score back a bit, but won't reset it back to zero, giving you the opportunity to quickly get back on track. I hope you all enjoy using Forte! Please reach out and let me know if it helps you achieve your goals.

@collindaugherty Nice, I like the premise behind the app quite a bit. Have never found that the idea of a streak would motivate me towards building a habit, but this has some interesting ideas. Duolingo seems to take a similar approach

The demo video is awesome! How did you make it?

Well made! Keep it up.

Just started using it this morning and set up some reminders - however I havn't received any notifications at the reminder times?
Collin Daugherty
@dylan_meyer_o_brien Yeah, I've been getting similar reports from some users. Not sure yet what is causing this bug.

Is this an attempt to replicate the success of the open source android Loop Habit Tracker on iOS? (https://github.com/iSoron/uhabits) Just curious. Anyway, I would totally use this if there were a way to export the data in CSV. It currently seems this isn't the case.

@onurs Loop Habit Tracker was a big influence. I loved that app when I was an Android user. Data export will be coming in a future update.

@onurs @collindaugherty Speaking of which, will you make an Android version too? :) I've tried too but didn't like the UI and so eventually stopped using it. Forte on the other hand looks gorgeous so I'd love to give it a go.
