Hi PH,
Freddy Feedback's launch in 2020 ended with being #3 Product of the Day (thank you!) and now we're back with a major upgrade.
This is where we're going in 2021: rather than becoming a generic survey tool, the focus will be to become the best web feedback tool.
A feedback tool specifically designed to get feedback on:
- Web content (like documentation)
- Products (like a user dashboard)
- Features (like an action within a user dashboard)
- Experiences (like onboarding or upgrading a paid plan)
This is exactly what our customers use Freddy today for and they’re very happy with it!
🔥 Launch day offer: sign up today and we'll double your monthly responses from 1000 to 2000! 🔥
What we've added since the launch:
🥳 Custom Emojis
📺 Screen Capture: let your users capture a screenshot of your webpage and use a pen tool to indicate what their feedback is about.
💌 Email and Slack notifications
🧑💻 Custom Fields: attach custom data, like a user ID or email address, to every response.
🔌 Webhooks
💻 Device info for each response
🧪 Local testing mode
👀 Widget preview
❓ Widget with just one question instead of a score
💬 Share each response individually on Slack
🎨 Countless design updates, most notable a new survey dashboard design (see screenshot)
📚 Detailed documentation
🔄 At least 1000 iterations on the homepage 😅
What's next?
#️⃣ Text answers (this one's big!): instead of emojis or stars, your users can pick from your pre-defined set of text options. Let your users report bugs, ideas or something fully custom to your product or service.
📱 Device targeting: show/hide the widget based on the user's device type.
💅 More customization options.
🕵️♂️ There’s plenty more that we will reveal in the coming months.
Please let us know via the comments what you would like to see next!
The new features sound like they’ll be super useful and make the product more powerful. I’m happy to see a product innovating on the Web 2.0 “feedback” sidebar tab that always feels like you are submitting feedback into an abyss.
For your 2020 launch was there anything you spent a lot of time on pre-launch that later turned out not to matter?
@tylerswartz thanks, always nice to hear from a fellow PM! I kept it pretty minimal at the start, but there was one feature that I removed which was saving a keyword (when searching through responses). Turns our typing it again if you need it is just as fast 🤷♀️. Let me know if you want to use Freddy at Reddit 😜
Amazing tool for collecting feedback. We've been using this for pingping.io for months now and really enjoy the design, the simplicity, and the amazing support.
The best way to get more users is to make the ones you have happier. I love how simple Freddy Feedback is. I think it's one of the stronger products I've seen!
