Freedom 251, manufactured by Ringing Bells, launches today (February 18th) and it runs the Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system. As of today, the cheapest low-cost smartphones are prices at $15-$20.
It's not currently clear just how Ringing Bells has managed to produce such a cheap smartphone. It's been suggested that the Indian government could be subsidising the company, but no such deals have been announced.
It's interesting to see whether or not Freedom 251 will bring a revolution in a market already dominated by low-cost handsets.
