Every week I spend some looking for Product Requests on twitter so, I've decided to start a newsletter to share my findings weekly

I'd love to know what you think and what's missing.
@gonelf It's very simple landing page. I think you can fine the layout to make it sexier but not such a big deal. Also for people who don't are not familiar with PH, you could define what's "product request".
@gonelf Here are few feedback points from me:
- http:// should redirect to https:// these days automatically (especially if people enter their personal data on your page);
- subscription confirmation has landed in my spam folder (have you confirmed the email domain with Mailchimp?)
- as you are processing personal data (emails, for marketing-like purposes), you want to have a privacy policy on the website, and have people explicitly accept it
And a question: What are your plans for business model / monetisation?
@samabrika1 Yeh, I have just been hacking the page to test the concept but it can look a lot better. Sure I'll think of a funny way to explain what a product request is, do you have any suggestion on that?

1. Https for personal data: make total sense, I'll look into it
2. I don't remember confirming the domain in Mailchimp, I'll check.
3. Do you know any privacy policy service that I can use?
Regarding monetization, it's still not clear for me how it could be, It can grow to an idea/product request board where companies can pay to have feedback. Do you have any suggestions for that?

@tabansi Looks cool but I am not sure why I should sign up. There are a lot of promises but personally as a user I'd like to see an example. Just my 2 cents. Great work though I bet most of the effort is spent on the app itself. I do like the design, it looks good and flows well. Would be killer with some product demos or abstract visual examples of how it works and why I should use it. :)

@tabansi Website looks cool. From a UI perspective you could try to change the yellow color in your illustrations to your purple accent color that you are using on the rest of the website. This might make it look cleaner. I would also show a screenshot or demo video of the app itself. Showing the product will give visitors a clearer picture.

@tabansi I like the idea but I would like to see some sneak peak and examples. Your website is telling me that your product will help me but not how it will do it. I hope that by submitting my email I will get a chance to try it out even if it's still in beta. I have tried similar products before but I never really started using any as they would require a lot of work to set up, they cost a lot of money or they are complicated to use. I would like to see how Wangll compares to other :)

@oliver_wolf Who are you targeting exactly? Students who don't need to format either use LaTeX, notes or simply Google Docs.
@oliver_wolf Hello! the idea definitely seems interesting, but I am not sure if there is anything like it on the market. The site, I can tell you, looks clean and clear
@samabrika1 Yes, primarily students. Google Docs is similar to Word and is IMO a bit to general purpose for writing a Thesis. Also you have to care about Formatting more than you do when you use LaTeX. I think LaTeX on the other hand, is too complicated to get started with for the most users. I know, people who know LaTeX have another opinion but those are the minority. Most of the students do not know LaTeX and rather bother with Word than learning it. ... At least these are my observations.
Have you ever wrote something in Google Docs that is longer than 20 pages?
@walid_shaar Thx for you opinion. With "anything like it on the market" you mean whether there are some similar products out there?
@oliver_wolf When I was consultant, I wrote docs 100 pages long on Word. My longest Google Docs is currently 35 pages. Except for putting numbering on headings (which requires a free add-on), it all works fine.
So you targeting PhD students that are not tech enough to use LaTeX, don't like Google Docs/Word, and would pay for a better solution. That's quite niche, but go ahead ;)

@abadesi @walid_shaar There is a lot of animations, which makes the website slow to load and penalise your SEO performance. I would recommend to use static images whenever you can to make it lighter.
@abadesi @samabrika1 Thank you for your feedback! We realized that people visiting out page are not getting a clear picture. We figured a cute animation would make things clearer
@abadesi @walid_shaar Usually when people don't understand the product, you need to change the wording or design. Adding animation rarely solves it :)
@abadesi @samabrika1 We definitely changed the whole wording style (Emphasizing on the Header) aswell
@walid_shaar It's a nice website but it took some time to load. Still, having that animation did really help me understand exactly what your product does in less than a minute so well done. I like that you have your own device, but if we look past the device what is the difference between using Ring and bring and sending a message? Is there additional benefit?

@hrishikesh1990 It's great! I've subscribed. I have just started my first job and it's a remote job. Since I am still a student (I am also a remote student, not going to lectures but going to University to take exams) I've been struggling with organization. Every day I need to find time for work and for studies and I am not the best in organizing my time. I love that you are finding and sharing tools that can help me with that.
At this moment my biggest challenge is explaining to friend and family that my work our are flexible but still I sometimes have to set aside time for work and if I don't make a strict plan I will quickly fall behind.
I am looking forward to Friday note :D

@gonelf Thank you!! I really appreciate the help. You can get a free account here - https://app.duckwyn.com/beta - or, if there is another way to contact you, I can send you a username and password. This is a mobile app so you'll want to login from your phone.
Once logged in (make sure you allow location access when prompted), if you could try to add a journal entry that would be great. You can do this by clicking the notebook icon at the top center of the screen. Then click on "write a note". When I tried doing this in Italy, the note would not submit because of a timezone conflict. Hopefully this is working correctly now :)

@soelost how does this work? Do you set your profile and someone can tag you as a partner or do you set your and your partners profiles? It's not clear in the page how it works. Maybe you could have a step by step on how it works. I hope it helps.

You'd set up your profile and you'd tag your partner. If they don't have an account, you'd invite them which would create a placeholder account. Even if your partner doesn't sign up, their other partners can also tag this placeholder, which allows your partners risk to be scored and also facilitate exposure alerts between strangers with common partners.
I hope that helped. The landing page I have up took me long enough so I'm not sure how or where to put this information and whether I should put it in place of other things or in addition to.
@soelost maybe you could make a short video explaining what you just explained to me because now it is very clear. You could place this video where you have the first image. I hope it helps.
@soelost It's better but I think it would make much sense to have that "how it works" in the main page, right below the "features" block. Why should I go to another page to understand how it works? That's what will convince me to join IMO
