I'm trying to reach out to startup people or influencers to do interviews or surveys to find out the feasibility of my product, but I'm getting a very low response rate.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips?
Also, if any PH members are struggling to get interviews, surveys, or product reviews, let me know, I'd be happy to help as someone who 100% understands what you're going through.
@taniabell I appreciate your insightful thoughts and wonder if you have any recommendations for brands or services that do it well?
@elly_sp pls help me understand what you'd like to do. Or even better - what are you trying solve for and I'll be happy to share what I know.
@anto_a I truly appreciate your kind response—thank you! I’d love to know how I can request help. Also, I noticed that the link to X on your profile isn’t working. Just wanted to give you a heads-up! 😊

I totally get this, cold outreach for interviews and surveys is tough. A few things that have helped me:
1️⃣ Make it about them – Instead of “Can I interview you?”, frame it as insightful for them, like: “I’d love to feature your thoughts on "topic" and share the findings with you.” People are more likely to respond if they see value.
2️⃣ Keep it ridiculously short. Long messages get ignored. Trust me there, I had many discussion with my co-founder about this, because he did this "long message" approach and it didn't work. Maybe if you have some authority and standing, but in your case, if you already have a low response rate, try to stick with short, but impactful messages.
3️⃣ Leverage existing communities – Posting in relevant Reddit groups, Twitter, or PH discussions often gets better engagement than cold outreach.
4️⃣ Offer reciprocity – If you can provide something (feedback, exposure, connections), mention it. People are more willing to help when they get something in return.
What’s your current approach? Maybe we can tweak something to improve the response rate! 🚀
@hussein_r I was feeling drained, and your kind words were a huge comfort. Thank you sooooooooooo much—I truly appreciate it💕
@kay_arkain Thanks so much for sharing your insights, I'll definitely try this on Reddit!
my two cents:
if you want to understand how your product is perceived by the user, ask your current users
if you want to expand your user base, go with a content strategy that helps you promote your product without being too salesy
