Do you prefer reaching out cold to a person via email or LinkedIn❓

Everyone must have reached a few people in their life whether that's selling something or else. Do you prefer to do that via email or LinkedIn? Or even Twitter/X or any other channel? Launching next week: https://www.producthunt.com/prod...

@olenabomko can't do everything really well. Need to specialize in things :)

Depends what you're reaching out about and who you're targeting - there are still a lot of people who don't use LinkedIn so email does still work! I like to use a mix, but LinkedIn is my preference because it's a positive cycle - connecting with someone to send a message is another pair of eyes for your content

@alex_sutherland social selling is a great touch point

@elijah_harris I heard also saying the other way round works really well. "I'm putting the face to the name" sorr of message.

I think LinkedIn is the best way to reach out to someone in the first place because the recipient gets to know who's behind the message. It can even help him/her/them navigate towards the consideration phase. If I don't get an answer after a few initial LinkedIn messages (2 or 3), then I switch to email.
Frank Sondors
@steve_lourdessamy sometimes it's hard to reach the person in or the other channel, which is why a multi-channel approach works significantly better.

Naturally, depends on the goal and context. For work, I usually prefer email first if I have it and would then follow up on LinkedIn if needed.

In the UK emails are tough going at the minute. LinkedIn works better for me!
Frank Sondors
@rednevada why is it tough? Nobody ever barely replies?
Mahnoor Ahmed
It really depends on your target audience. Some people are more responsive to LinkedIn messages, while others prefer email. It's important to test both approaches and adapt to what works best for your specific situation.
Frank Sondors
@mahnoor_ahmed or just simply do both channels at the same time.

Cold Email and messages are perfect, That's why professional social media exists. I prefer indirect interactive messages.
Frank Sondors
@sumit_sharma29 interactive messages? 🤨 As in GIFs, videos? 😅

I don't like sending cold emails or LinkedIn massages. It's better to build your personal brand, grow your followers, and then promote your offerings in a single post to a larger audience. Being an influencer suits me better.
Frank Sondors
@kinzarra why not do both?
Dennis Aronov
I think it depends on context. However, I think I mostly get better luck on LinkedIn. Especially if I write a message that is genuine and not a generic message that everyone gets.
Frank Sondors
@dennis_aronov it's very, very rare Dennis to get a genuine message on LinkedIn. I get over 5 templates every day. We're actually looking to change that next quarter with our product as our goal is get rid of templates.
Rico
I prefer email from far more data about the interaction.
Frank Sondors
@lazyrico curious how come? Is it because all businesses use email or?
Rico
@franksondors With email I can track metrics like open rates, click-through rates on links, and set up automated follow-up scenarios based on these interactions. I like to automate the most of my outreach.
Sabri Hakuli
Yes, it's a much more friendly way of approaching!
Frank Sondors
@sabrihakuli what's your preference though?
George Burmistrov
LinkedIn is a more personal choice. Email may be perceived as sort of a white noise, while LinkedIn will notify the person you're reaching out to that you're waiting for them to answer. The platform sends follow up messages for you so to say.
Frank Sondors
@burmistrov you can send follow ups in email too :)
Mark Amouzgar
I prefer using both. Sometimes they don't answer me individually!
Tanvi Mehta
Every viable channel.

Launching soon!
Cold outreach (i've found) lands better on LinkedIn but its harder to achieve at scale.
Rehansh
Its funny because I was thinking about this too Let me tell you my thoughts: The market is sophisticated and people more or less use the same message templates hence the people at the receiving end are tired of all the copy-paste templates Hence I like to do 'omnipresence outreach' where I reach out to them NOT just on 1 platform but multiple platforms - Linkedin, X, Email and Instagram if possible This way the person sees my message on all platforms make him think I'm legit and really want to get ahold of him!

I prefer LinkedIn for B2B marketing strategies whereas email for B2C marketing strategies.
When it comes to optimizing my digital marketing strategy, I've been on the lookout for comprehensive solutions. Well, I personally prefer LinkedIn because it helps me connect with that person by knowing his complete background through linkedin. I've been diving into the world of digital marketing, and in this fast-paced field, finding the right tools to enhance productivity and efficiency is crucial. One solution that always helps me is AiToolsKit.ai. It's an all-in-one platform that offers an array of tools encompassing productivity, AI assistance, SEO, writing support, and social media management. What I find intriguing about AiToolsKit.ai is how it brings together these diverse functions into a single platform. Moreover, sometimes I use reaching via Email also by using the dezired prompt from AiToolsKit.ai and then I take the help of chatgpt to write me a professional email.
