Learn the fundamentals from courses on Hubspot, SEMrush, YouTube or Coursera. Then learn from experiences shared on podcasts, books...etc. Neil Patel, Gary Vee, Seth Godin, Alex Hormozi, Ogilvy. Study them and follow their strategies, advice.

In Marketing, maintaining a set of KPIs sounds like an easy task but in reality your KPIs also keep changing and having them organized at all times will help you a lot.

Find a good mentor! One who can tell you about the multiple faces of marketing and can draw a career strategy in marketing together with you. I couldn't express how grateful I am to the mentors I've had

My best advice is to start by understanding your audience deeply. Research their needs, preferences and pain points.

Learn distribution as fast as possible. Anyway you'll be able to create content but distributing it is the challenge.
Get hands on with as many campaigns and channels as you can. Joining an early stage startup might not be a bad idea.

Before you learn any marketing techniques, you should be familiar with a few marketing concepts. BTW, never begin by learning any tools, whether Google Ads, SEO tools, or something else - it doesn't matter (knowing Google Ads does not imply knowing marketing, etc.; it simply means that you know where to open, click, etc.). Marketing is about: 1. Distinguishing oneself from competition. 2. Creating your product around your unique selling points. Everything else is simply tools and techniques.
