How do you balance between keeping your product simple and adding features to attract more users?

I think with careful UI design / redesign it is nearly always possible to add features while keeping it easy to use.

Try to involve your community in the process, and (for tech/dev products) provide structured and clean documentation. What also works well is to give short video tutorials for new features. Integrate the videos in the product and in your docs - don't just post it on YouTube.

It is difficult, and many products have made mistakes in this regard. But the general principle is to direct new functionality, which complicates the experience but increases value, toward existing users. For scenarios aimed at new users, keep them as simple as possible.

Every feature addition or enhancement should strengthen, not dilute, your product's USP. Always engage with your users through alpha/beta testing or via direct interaction to understand their needs and frustrations. This feedback should directly inform what features to prioritize.
