Monday mornings are like a game of Tetris, you have to juggle a lot of blocks (family, work, personal life) and fit them in the right place, if not you might end up in a mess.
To beat the brain fog, I start my day with a strong coffee, because let's face it, what's the point of waking up if you're not fully caffeinated? And I make sure to set small, achievable goals for the day so that I can knock them out one by one and feel a sense of accomplishment. Plus, I make sure to take a break when needed to clear my head and come back to work with renewed energy.
How do you beat brain fog? I wake up at 5 am, drink a cup of water, wait 1 hour and then have my first coffee. I works fine, water helps my brain to start working in the mornings
Grinding fresh coffee and making a good cup of it.. while outlining the tasks of the day. But i never start work immediately! First i take around 1 hour playing any PC or mobile game that stimulates my brain .. mostly games with base building or problem solving .. i find that really helpful to get focused :)
[5:30am] - most days
(go for a run?) -> skip the run -> coffee -> plug in for an hour -> (at least do some pushups?) -> skip the pushups -> kids are up -> feed the kids -> get kids out of the house -> coffee -> plug back in for 9:00am standup!
Take a morning walk outside before you get into heavy work. Helps clear the mind and get some exposure to fresh air and daylight.
Also, these days I try to drink matcha tea instead of coffee to keep more consistent energy levels :).
Good morning everyone,
Monday mornings can be a bit of a drag, but I always try to start the day with a positive attitude and a fresh perspective. For me, a cup of coffee is a must, as well as a healthy dose of humor to help shake off any lingering brain fog.
I try to approach each day with a "can-do" attitude and that goes for Monday mornings as well. So, whether you're a coffee person or not, try to start the week off on the right foot and make the most of your Mondays.
Coffee -> Overthink -> Write todo -> Coffee -> forget the todo list -> Coffee -> Start working on the things that I thought to do yesterday.
"Yes we exist"
I get up and plan, do todos, time boxing things into my calendar and I go to the gym. Letting my brain work those problem in the the background and after the gym is when my work really starts.
Coffee for sure. At work we start our week with tracking KPIs and planning our sprint. It helps align our team and also is a start of week ritual that helps set the mood and clear up any doubts so we can go into the week motivated. :)
Wake up, cold shower, prepare a coffee (and croissant 🥐), and start the most challenging work immediately—deep focus for 2-4 hours. Pause with sport, and then the rest of the day is spent solving less energy-demanding tasks. Everything is scheduled the evening before (for Monday, it's prepared Friday). Tried it for multiple weeks, and pretty effective :D
@bakemono I do the same thing, I keep it to one big theme for the week, helps me keep focus on the daily Todos. Last week's theme was "Be social" hence the post :-D
My day starts with a big glass of water and followed by a nice cup of coffee! A good 30min catch up with my cofounders and then its 90mins of focus time with a 15 min reward of whatever thing I choose to do.
Unpopular opinion: I actually hate coffee (it is what it is...). In my case 15 minutes of swimming, pilates or some stretching and we start with the work day!
