Agreed - I do have to say it's subjective, but if a company looks modern, professional, as few errors in their marketing pages (typo's etc) as possible, it definitely helps credibility. Testimonials also help. Whereas older, outdated websites tend to make me think twice before subscribing to a service for example. Might be overcautious, but if the frontend doesn't look right, what does the "backend" look like? Is it safe?

To stand out with your creatives and brand identity is extremely important. If you would just compare the website homepage for a few saas companies by just removing their logo and the name, the designs used looks awfully similar.
