How ProductHunt became the Junkyard of the World
1. Fake reviews
2. Bot likes
3. Ensuring inferior garbage bubbles to the top
I've written extensively about it below ...

This is so true. Most of the comments on the launch page are useless (the "congratulations" comments are just spammed over the entire response section) . I rarely see comments like "you could do this to make this better" or "I don't like this product because of this reason".
And I'm just sick of so many low effort Ai products based off gpt 4

@zignis @thomas_hansen5 It feels like much more than 50%.

Nevertheless, there are still many active users. Perhaps due to lack of choice.

This is not something unique to ProductHunt, but rather software in general. Products are easier to build, easier to ship. There's a playbook for everything.
Its easier than ever to get the initial spurt of awareness and interest and fill your Top of Funnel, but harder than ever to create real sustainable growth unless you put real effort into building a stellar product.
The same complaints happened when cloud computing became affordable and SaaS products exploded and overran on-prem and installed software - which were harder to build and thus more...um..robust? comprehensive? Something like that.
AI is pushing the envelope even further, but the same rules for the cream separating from the crap will continue to apply.
