How will your side project or startup help with your career?

I've heard quite a lot of people telling me that my experience as a founder was a plus for my career, but I wonder why specifically. What do you think? What are the main benefits of an experience founding a company or working on a side project?

It depends on the company you are interviewing for and your startup or side project. In my case, it did not have any effect. In your case, it might be an advantage tho!
