I am just wondering how much editing is too much editing for a video?

when the focus is no more on the content, but the effects. Though a video made for showing effects will be a corner case.

I would say adding too many effects and transitions and applying unnecessary cuts is too much editing

I would say edit till unnecessary parts are removed.
