@ryan_motiff Thanks Ryan! Great question. My take: Having a well curated list of alpha testers, friends and people in your network who can support the launch in the early hours of the day. I think getting the initial traction from that group of people was key.
@imaravind biggest surprise? The importance of activating your community right at the time of the launch to get an initial boost.
biggest learning? We ended the day as #2 product of the day with 350+ upvotes, that got us 120+ product signups. I'm positively surprised about that.
@french_ninja as a first time product hunt launcher, I worked with a Hunter who had experience and was able to give me tips along the way.
The main pillars were:
1. Creating a teaser page 1 month before the launch
2. "Warming" up my linkedin followership for the launch by bringing them to the teaser page
3. On the go live day, sending an email to all our alpha testers + community members + distributing the news on various slack groups and channels
4. being here all the time on Product Hunt, engaging with people in the discussion section
@zijian that launching on product hunt is fun. I did it for the first time, and while we spent some time building Otterly AI, it was also fun to prepare this launch today. The community is very open here which I'm very positively surprised. And in total, we got about 70+ product signups so far (free trial). Let's see how the conversion looks like in a few days...
