Like POKEMON: I must see ALL the PH badges!

I have read their page about badges and i have seem some wild ones on others profiles. What do they do? HOW do you unlock them? I have a thought leader one but have NO IDEA how i did it of how to progress it. Has anyone got a random badge, i would like to know :)...Like pokemon, i have to SEE them all, not own them lol
