Business Marketing with Nika

LinkedIn vs. Product Hunt vs. Twitter (X)?

Which platform do you prefer? πŸ€” –––––––––– TBH, Product Hunt is a great place to get ideas and meet like-minded people. However, I still miss the element of private messages and adding more complex posts (e.g. photos, videos, GIFs, graphics). Because of this, I connect with people from Product Hunt on LinkedIn, so I think LinkedIn is the ultimate social network for me on the list so far.

I have a twitter account and I was thinking of launching my product here on Product Hunt. I'm a newbie lo. Would love to connect with everyone but also don't know where to start and feeling a bit overwhelmed since there's so much to consider when launching. I see that you've launched 3 products already, Nika. Any tips for someone like me? And can't you post photos, videos and other graphics here?

@istiakahmad Thank you so much. This makes me feel so welcome :)

@istiakahmad sure! I just scheduled my first ever launch on here. Hopefully it'll go well on launch day.

Or can not select one. I am posting actively on Linkedin and Twitter and launch on PH. But I also built for Linkedin, so think it is an interesting platform to be.

I think exactly the same sis.

For me it's Product Hunt right now. I do think they have a long way to go in terms of features, like the ones you mentioned. But the community is the best so that makes up for all of it.

I agree, Product Hunt is great for discovering new ideas and connecting with like-minded individuals, but the lack of private messaging and multimedia posts can be limiting. LinkedIn definitely fills that gap with its professional networking features. It's a great way to stay connected with people from Product Hunt and expand your network.

Product Hunt for the Win! 😻😸😁

@busmark_w_nika Same, I don't know if PH has become a distraction or a motivation, maybe a little of both.

I'm curious, have you tried leveraging Twitter for professional connections?

I'm new to product hunt or even product building, product hunt is where I explore and also share my thoughts, however immature that is. Meanwhile, my linkedin is rather static, and I don't do much there. Maybe I should :D

@busmark_w_nika as a developer, I feel that SQL is actually much easier to use than Notion's drag & drop way of operating databases, so I want to create a product to add a SQL interface to Notion db.

I love connecting with people I've met on LinkedIn, but there's something special about the connections I've made through ProductHunt. I don't know if it's the sense of camaraderie, or if it's more welcoming.

I am new to product hunt. So, I had been mostly using LinkedIn (not very active). But I am making content to serve as a marketing of my product that I'll be launching earlier next year Q1. I have heard a lot about X(Twitter), so I'll be giving it a shot too. Happy to connect over linkedin: https://linkedin.com/in/zuhaib-a...

Totally agree with you. Adding options for GIFs, and images can be much more helpful as they play a vital role in visualizing a concept within discussion threads.

I like a mix of LinkedIn and Product Hunt and they each have their own benefits. I use LinkedIn for business and networking with professionals, and we use it on a company level to find and build the right target audience, raise awareness and inform that audience about our services. Now about Product Hunt, I like the fact that I can find and connect with other like-minded people/ makers and build a community. It has a sense of belonging to it (if you know what I mean)
