New on Product Hunt — Profile Verification (Green Tick)
Product Hunt is introducing verified profiles with a green tick to enhance authenticity and trust in the community.
This feature is currently in beta and being tested with a select group of users, but it will roll out to everyone in early 2025.
Will verified accounts have more weight on their upvotes? It's unclear if the green tick will influence how much impact a user's upvotes have on rankings.
What’s the criteria for getting verified? No official announcement yet, but it might include phone number verification, social media links, or some other form of identity confirmation.
This move could make Product Hunt an even more reliable and transparent platform for makers, hunters, and enthusiasts alike.

@busmark_w_nika Haha, yes. I have seen many AI comments too. Hopefully, the verification will help us differentiate to an extent. :)
@rohanrecommends My opinion is that these "checks" should be done periodically because when one decides to implement AI after verification, this system can be cheated soon.
@busmark_w_nika I think it'll be beneficial as well. @rohanrecommends just don't use the same tool LinkedIn uses (they completely revoked the verification possibility for some countries)
