Dreamdata Audience Hub won the 2nd Product of the Day on Product Hunt 🥈 I was their hunter. Here are my 3 biggest learnings from this launch:
1. It was a big launch. Product Hunt was just a part of it.
A lot of startups make a big mistake relying only on Product Hunt. And they do random acts of marketing to gain top positions.
Dreamdata has an established go-to-market strategy. During their launch, they doubled down on it.
BUT it depends on the maturity of your startup and your goals. Will not work for a startup with 0 customers and no audience.
2. All their team was involved. That’s how you promote your launch as a startup.
3. This is a marathon. The team was active on LinkedIn before the launch. The team is active on LinkedIn after the launch. The launch day was just more intensive.
