@anil_meena21@raghubharat Do you feel like you miss out on creating connections with the people that you work with when you work remotely? Also do you feel like you limit productivity?
@jake_gutstein I believe connection or networking is best built 1 on 1 conversation, I am always been liked by my colleagues due to this closeness from good conversation that i still do with my team mates.
About productivity, i guess its more of a habit different people can productive in different situation; I am more productive when i am working alone so be it in office or at home ... if i am working alone i'll be productive
@raghubharat I appreciate the perspective Raghu! I've been trying to have those informal meetings with members of my team as well.
Trust in team to accomplish all scoped work is always top of mind for me. Granting flexibility and having faith that the work will still get done is something that I am actively working on as a leader.
an unpopular opinion here on PH I guess 🤷♂️...
interacting with people in real life (not necessarily in an office) is the best way to brainstorm ideas and collaborate to build a solid understanding of priorities and what needs to be done.
WFH is excellent for people who hate the people they work with and the toxic office environment but I have to ask then... why do you even work there?
WFH results in lower motivation, zoom fatigue, and lower quality of work due to constant distractions.
"convince" and "flexibility" are words that should never be used in a startup at least in the first few years. kinda tough but necessary...
WFH - waste so much less time getting into a suit and commuting to and from work. I also avoid the hours spent chatting to colleagues (although I do miss that a bit!)
For me, the office is where I am most productive. I can cut out distractions easier and collaborate faster with colleagues. Since I also do a lot of voiceover work for my company, the in-office studio makes a world of difference.
It helps that the company is flexible in general, so WFH doesn't offer much freedom there. There's also a full kitchen, which means I can make dinner in the office to take home when my kids are busy with activities. Or if I need to leave early, there's no issue.
Hi Raghu! I have never tried working in-office. However, I think I prefer WFH since it leaves me time for my studies and other things I enjoy like language learning :)
Definitely going to the office! there's nothing like getting ready, going outside, meeting with your coworkers...
Maybe WFH one day a week to run errands 😌
