A video ! It makes understanding your product easier. We're working on that for https://edenai.co/ launch, and it will take few weeks but I think it's worth it.

@samy_melaine Agree with you, a video is worth a thousand words. However, create an appealing video is a bit difficult for developers like me who can't edit, I prefer to make gifs instead.

@inc_gemoo We're actually outsourcing that as we're devs ourselves too :)) It does have a cost indeed but still worth it imho.

@samy_melaine I agree! We just launched this morning with a video. There are some great deals on Upwork for 3rd party firms that can make great videos on a budget!

@samy_melaine @fam_socialfinance great advice—thank you! We launch tomorrow and were going to remove the video since it’s not 100% refined (my video editing skills are limited). Will definitely consider adding back in and using a 3rd party firm to create more professional looking videos for us going forward.

Having a good product is a must. I noticed that there are way too many product launches that go with whatever is popular at the moment. I'd rather see fewer product launches than see a ton of them that are really similar or exact copies with different UI.

Before you launch your product on Product Hunt, there are some key items you should have checked off your to-do list. To ensure a successful launch, make sure to get an eye-catching graphic of your: logo or product image, an enticing title, detailed description of what the product is and does, carefully thought-out categories and tags, a clear call to action (CTA), an upfront and generous pricing page for potential customers or investors, screenshots or video demos that highlight the product experience and capabilities, and finally pre-planning a series of content & social media promotions to accompany the launch itself. Doing so will bring attention to the product as well as generate interest in users who would be eager to take part in early access or understand more about what you are trying to accomplish. For point 5, I've always wondered what would an influencer look for in a new product and what will motivate them to push or recommend your product to their community. How have y'all addressed this?

@roycewong Hello Royce, great question. It's important to select some current users/believers as beta testers before/during the launch period. Influencers may also be willing to test the product, providing them confidence to promote it to their audience. If they test and benefit from it, they'll have no issue promoting it.

Great list. More recommendations: 1. Get everyone at your company to warm up their Product Hunt accounts for weeks before hand 2. Ask everyone at your company to email 10-15 friends to comment and upvote on Product Hunt 3. Comments > upvotes. Many times a product is ranked higher when they have more comments than upvotes, so many sure everyone you ask for support comments as well as votes.
