For me the formula is quite simple: The power of setting a goal will end up improving your productivity. You need to be specific about what you really crave for in your life and that hunger will end up making you action-oriented. Your actions need to be time bound and measurable so that it can deliver some positive output!
Be well organised, prioritise your health, indulge in activities that will keep you connected to your goal.

I try to wake up early in the morning and work for at least few hours during the day. I know waking up early in the morning is not easy, but once you get used to, you will find it is the best time of the day. Then I divide my tasks for the day and do them one by one. I try to keep my mind always occupied to stay productive.
