I believe that the biggest difficulty in using AI technology to generate a complete movie lies in balancing creativity with coherence. Movies aren’t just a sequence of cool visuals and dialogue – they’re emotional journeys with complex narratives, character arcs, and a deep understanding of human experiences. AI struggles with capturing those nuanced layers consistently.

Emotional depth - while it can help with a lot of things, AI struggles with understanding human emotions and the subtleties of storytelling.

Character consistency.

Consistency is definitely a challenge. It's hard for AI to maintain coherent character arcs, motivations, and personalities across an entire feature-length script. Tools like Jasper or GPT-4 can help with generating individual scenes or dialogue, but stitching it all together into a compelling narrative with consistent characters is still largely a manual process. Would love to see tools emerge to help address this!
