The main difference is the skills needed for each job. A Web Designer takes the design and uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to put it into action. A UX/UI designer must think about how the user interacts with a site or app and then make changes accordingly by researching data from tests.
UX designer is responsible for the entire user experience—the way users interact with a product and what they feel while using it. UI designer creates a visual language that supports that interaction. A web designer is only responsible for the look of an individual website.
