Definitely patience. Along with that I would like to add listening to them will surely make them confident enough to reach out to you.
To be honest, becoming really good at something takes time. No matter how bright or smart you are, becoming good at Product Management will take one years.
But you should start with talking to your users, deeply analysing their problems and where they stem from. Empathy is the key.
Product management is a craft, just like programming. So to be great at it, you need practice. A deliberate practice.
